USC was the last team when they clownstomped Oklahoma..

I just cannot take any of these teams and give them the title of champion.

I guess the best thing the BCS can hope for is for OSU to win , if not , it is clouded once again..No one can say who is the better out of USC , UGA and LSU .

This system is a joke and something needs to be done..

USCfalcons , call them clowns on the Rosebowl commitee and tell them to stop holding out on a playoff..Not a soul here cares how much money they will lose

Agreed and we especially need a playoff system this year.

Money and Greed will never allow that to happen.

I wish some of these conferences would start to back out on some of these games , I know it will never happen , but I wish it would..

Auburn got the total hose job a couple a years ago , that no one can argue..

Probably not. Sad thing about this is, a lot of people love College Football and it's one of the most respected sports games out of all sports. Imagine how much more respect it would get with a playoff system.

With a playoff system coaches can afford to lose games and rest players like in the NFL inturn you lose the importance and meaningfulness of every game.

College Football is so pure because at the beginning of each year every team expects to go undefeated and there is a real possible that your team can go undefeated that is why College football is respected so much. A playoff system would ruin that.

The year Auburn went undefeated and still didn't get in the title game was proof that we need a playoff system.

Before than and since than how many times has that happen?

That's one time too many. Seniors lost a chance to compete for a National Championship. That's a once and a lifetime opportunity.

Exactly. Any system that puts so much weight on where you start the season (before a single **** game is played) is flawed.

And I don't get the money/greed argument. Say you go to an 8 team playoff, using all the current BCS bowls plus 2 extra games. That is MORE revenue. Those playoff games will generate a ton of excitement. I would wager that viewership would increase.

And the "that'd be too many games" argument wouldn't work either. 2 teams would play 1 extra game, 2 teams would play 2 extra. That's it.

1. Ohio State vs. Kansas

2. LSU vs. USC

3. VA Tech vs. Missouri

4. Oklahoma vs. Georgia

That might generate a tad more interest than UGA/Hawaii or USC/Illinois

I don't know how old you are and when you started watching college football;

But Auburn didn't really get snuffed.

2002 Auburn lost @ USC 24-17

2003

Auburn Pre-season ranked #6 High Expectation for this team.

Auburn lost to #8USC @ Home 23-0

2004

Auburn plays easy non-conference schedule and goes undefeated.

Louisiana-Monroe

Citadel

Louisiana Tech

End of 04 regular season

You decide

Auburn SEC Champ 0-2 against USC last two season

Oklahoma Big 12 Champ has not played USC in the past two season

Which is a better game?

Auburn really did not get snubed, the BCS give us the best possible game.

Where are games played? Neutral or higher seeded team (Money issue)

Sponsors who sponsors the game? (Another Money Issue)

Now you take the top eight team from the Polls right what about Conference Championship games every conference does not have one and every conference does not want one?

What about the other what about the other 94 teams (119-25=94) that don't have SOS and can't get bigger schools to play them they are left out in the cold without a chance to play?

They are played at current BCS bowl venues, rotating as they do now. Same sponsors.

BCS polls determine. The issues you mention already exist in the current system. This just assures that the 8 best (or at the very least, 8 of the best and the best of the best) all get a shot. Those smaller conferences don't have shyte for a chance now...at least in the new system it would be feasible for one to get in the top 8.

Agreed that's way more interesting then the system we have now. A playoff would also produce money. The two many games excuses is the most pathetic arguement I have ever heard. Fanboy just put an easy solution to the problem. The point of competition is to put the best system in place to find out the best team for that year. There is no legit arguement for CFB not needing a playoff system.

They went undefeated for that year. The year before that has nothing to do with the season after that. They went undefeated in a tough conference. Okay you say they don't play a tough nonConference schedule well with that logic please take Ohio St. out of the National Championship this year considering they have 1 lost and they play a weak Non Conference game.

So how does BCS give us the best Game?

Please remeber that these selection go off Polls (Which College coaches and college football analyst vote on)

I just give you the reason that they didn't play for a National Championship is it fair no it was not but many coaches and college football analyst did not believe Auburn was better than Oklahoma at the end of the year.

SOS is used when your comparing two teams (From Major conferences Big 12, Big Ten, SEC, Pac 10, ACC and Big East) with the same record ie

2006

Florida 12-1

Michigan 11-1

You can't compare

2007

USC 10-2

Ohio State 11-1

or

Georgia 10-2

Ohio State 11-1
