TheDirtyWordII
Udeze if you remember was a candidate to be drafted when we selected DeAngelo Hall back in 2004.He lasted until the #20 slot in the 2004 draft. But with everyone questioning the Jamaal Anderson pick because of his 0 sacks in 16 games stat...Udeze accomplished the same feat last year in his 3rd season. His stat line from 2006: 29 tackles, 0 sacksAdmittedly, he was coming off an ACL injury, but he was also on a much better defense that had the combination of Pat & Kevin Williams at the DT positions. But that's right - 16 games; ZERO sacks. This year, he increased those numbers to 47 tackles and 5 sacks. He won't be making any Pro-Bowls with those numbers, but he showed progress. But he was a first rounder who simply is requiring patience as he develops his pro game.

He's got the potential to be a great one, but he is a little more of a project. He'll be fine given time & good coaching.

Remember Patrick Kerney wasn't exactly a barn burner his first year either.

insight
People are acting like Anderson has been playing DE since high school. That's just not the case. He's got the potential to be a great one, but he is a little more of a project. He'll be fine given time & good coaching.Jamal has not made one play this year that gives any indication that he will be a great one or even an impact starter. Players with potential usually show glimpes of greatness, but Jamal has not done that.

cwell1
yeah I pointed Udeze out in another thread. He opened up the seaosn against us this year and sacked Joey, they practically threw a party on the sideline.and Jamaal has made plays this they just weren't sacks.and u can't say he wasn't getting more pressure later in the season than he did at the beginning. insight
He forced a fumble. Yes, He did force a fumble, but the play was an average defensive play. It was a good play but it didn't make me say, this guy has talent. I attended all the home games an watched this guy get blown up on nearly every play. His backups have made more plays than he has. atljbo
i think jamaal anderson can be a ok DE.......he can pull in similar numbers to that a season...but he is not a 10 sack a season guy
Headshot
Kenechi Udeze did not start all 16 games. Jamaal Anderson has no excuse other than the fact that he has played absolutely terrible this year.
