trubirdfan4life
according to the NFL network, brooking will be a 10million dollar cap hit next year!!!10 million. it was nice and he really played hard but his cap figure far outweighs his value.we will have to cut him because no team will trade for that cap figure. we will take a hit for that move but it will be better in the long run to get a REAL MLB in the to help stop the run and not tackle people 5-10 yards down the field. There are a few MLB in this draft who can come in and play not to mention free agents who we could get. with that move, along with gandy, and dunn we will have at least 25 million in cap room to make moves. There's dead money involved too. He must have an option bonus or something in there as there's only about 8 to 8.5 million accountable at this point... WineBird
I'm sure that they will ask him to restructure. I would hate to see him go, but I do think that his days as a starter are passed.
Farmer
Brooking will either renegogiate or retire. He is a Georgia boy through and through. It wouldn't surprise me to see him take a lower salary to stay with the Falcons if he still has the drive to play football.

BruceReville
Cut him now and you can add in 2009's cap hit as well since we would have to take the hit for whatever is left of his signing bonus that is pro-rated out -- and just to let you know - last year of contract is usually the biggest hit salary cap wise for signing bonuses:w00t:

Tetsujin-28
Brooking was a good player, though slighty overrated. His time has come and gone, however.

Lee Long©
We should have kept old Mark Simoneau for MLB, and let Brooking play WLB. When Mark was in they both had high tackle counts.
