Nighteyes
do you think we should take trade offers and get more draft picks and/or a player in a much more needed position?
atlfan25
8-ball (12/30/2007)do you think we should take trade offers and get more draft picks and/or a player in a much more needed position?IMO, The only team that would be willing to trade alot of picks and pay a big salary for McFadden is Dallas.Barber, both 1st rounders, 4th rounder, and possibly more should be demanded by the Falcons. Nighteyes
yea the question is how many teams are needing a running back barber the first first round pick and a second would be more reasonable with us adding a 4th to the mix
jidady
We should definitely explore a trade down. If that does not work, we should take the best player in the draft. Those would be the only two realistic options.

New England 16-0, 120 (no pick).Note that Kansas City, Oakland and Atlanta will be involved in potentially a two-tiered coin flip. The first flip, between Kansas City and Atlanta, will determine the 3rd pick. If Atlanta wins that flip, Kansas City will pick 4th and Oakland 5th. If Kansas City wins that flip, a second coin flip, between Oakland and Atlanta, will determine the 4th and 5th picks.Buffalo and Denver will also flip a coin for the 11th and 12th picks. These coin flips would take place about a month before the draft. Twinblade
ATL_25 (12/30/2007)8-ball (12/30/2007)do you think we should take trade offers and get more draft picks and/or a player in a much more needed position?IMO, The only team that would be willing to trade alot of picks and pay a big salary for McFadden is Dallas.Barber, both 1st rounders, 4th rounder, and possibly more should be demanded by the Falcons.Again and again and again oh and again, this trade will never, I repeat, never happen. Cowboys don't need McFadden as bad as people think, they have barber as it is thats all they need.
busboyisback
The only team that will trade up for McFadden potentially is the Raiders because of Al Davis.I know Fargas has potential but I think the Raiders are through taking Olinemen that early (Robert Gallery) and they already have a QB. Their D isn't that bad either.Because of these things Im starting to think they will actually be willing to trade up.I would say screw them. For all the lucky things that have gone our way for us to even have a chance for the coin flip, for our luck to be good enough to win the coin flip, and then turn around and McFadden is there when we pick, that is destiny. We have to take him. That guy is our reward for a season of suffering.
jidady
busboyisback (12/30/2007)That guy is our reward for a season of suffering.Honestly, I have felt that way for the past two months. If we go a different way with it and trade down, I'm fine with such a choice, but McFadden's presence would make us all forget about Vick. He's a strong step forward for this franchise. REV.2000
I'LL LEAVE THAT TO THE DRAFT EXPERTS. YOU WILL FIND THEM ABUNDANTLY PLENTIFUL ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD!:)

falconsdenmark
A trade that will land us an extra 2nd and not drop us too far in the first is fine by me. I have no problem with us drafting DMC or Dorsey.what I what in the offseason is: 2 new members for our offensive Line - a DT to give more chances to our DE.
