busboyisback
I think.1/2 chance you lose first coin toss1/2 chance you lose second if you lose the firstBy stats you multiply the two. 1/4 chance we lose both. Our luck can't be that bad can't it?All the things that had to go our way today maybe was an omen. RoastBeeph
Yep, if there really is a coin flip, our odds are:50% 3rd25% 4th25% 5thAssuming that if we win the flip vs KC, that we get 3rd and don't need to have a flip with Oakland (since KC has the tiebreaker vs Oakland already). g-dawg
if we lose the first coin flip, then there is a 50% chance we lose the 2nd coin flip too...

jdu00743
Where is a link saying that the division and conference record are only for teams in the same division. The only link I've seen does not say that.It says division is the next tie breaker after strength of schedule. NCFalcon52
Here are the rules... Coin toss only happens if SOS is tied, then conference & Division records are tied.Atlanta wins on the Conference Record. They have the worst & Division record. From CBSsportsline.comTie-breaking procedure for the NFL Draft If two or more clubs are tied in the selection order, the strength-of-schedule tie breaker is applied, subject to the following exceptions for playoff clubs: 1. The Super Bowl winner is last and the Super Bowl loser next-to-last. 2. Any non-Super Bowl playoff club involved in a tie shall be assigned priority within its segment below that of non-playoff clubs and in the order that the playoff clubs exited from the playoffs. Thus, within a tied segment a playoff club that loses in the Wild-Card game will have priority over a playoff club that loses in the Divisional playoff game, which in turn will have priority over a club that loses in the Conference Championship game. If two tied clubs exited the playoffs in the same round, the tie is broken by strength of schedule. If any ties cannot be broken by strength of schedule, the divisional or conference tie breakers, whichever are applicable, are applied. Any ties that still exist are broken by a coin flip. walrus falcon
SacFalcFan (12/30/2007)you created a thread saying that atlanta gets the 3rd pick.. busboy what changed? In his thread stating that we would have the third pick, I don't believe he took into account that division/conference records might apply only to teams that are in the same division/conference.But I don't think anybody knows for sure if division/conference records apply only to teams in the same divison/conference. Some sources say one thing, other sources say another.
FalconDawg
This is getting old people. Please see www.ajc.com/sports and you will see they already have headlines showing the Falcons will have the 3rd pick. Can we put it to bed now? Robb4242
There is a 0% chance we pick 5th or 6th. Our strength of schedule puts us ahead of both Oakland & KC. We will flip against the Jets for the 3rd/4th pick.
