Ransack
Tebow gives Hawaii QB advice on GeorgiaBy CHIP TOWERSThe Atlanta Journal-ConstitutionPublished on: 12/29/07Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan said he and Florida quarterback Tim Tebow compared notes on Georgia when the two were at the Heisman Trophy ceremonies in New York City earlier this month."He said [Georgia's was] the best defense he played and they gave him the most trouble," Brennan said.Tebow was sacked six times by the Bulldogs in a 42-30 loss in Jacksonville. Tebow's advice?"He said just get rid of it because they're coming," Brennan said. "They're a very physical and very fast defense. They're Georgia. They live up to their reputation and they're just as good as they are any year." So freaking true.. definately using excuses.. i love it for years "oh the bye week doesn't help uf when they play uga." and now "oh the bye week helped uga against uf".. then the "oh uga wouldn't have beat uf even with dj, him being out didn't hurt the dawgs" to "oh a bruise non-throwing shoulder was the reason we lost (of course never give credit to UGA's defense).." Peyton
it won't cure playing a great defense..Georgia's defense might have great players, but they haven't played that great. They have given up 27 TDs in 12 games. They gave up 34 points to Troy and 35 points to Tennessee, and they haven't held any of thier opponents to less than 13 points. Maybe every single one of thier guys will be in the NFL, but I don't think they've performed "great".Thier offense has though, especially in the last half of the season. ki45toryu
Yes it hurt FLA that Tebow was hurt a little this season....but if that is said, I then believe that Shockley would have destroyed FLA in 2005. Tereshinksi made it a close, close game. DJ would have been wipin his A with a FLA towel by the end.

UGA scoring defense gave up just over 1 points more per game than lsu's defense. UGA is the 3rd best defense in passing, total defense, scoring defense, and rushing defense. I would also say that if tebow, heisman winner, said that uga was the best defense he played against all season that says a lot..

Headshot
ki45toryu (12/30/2007)Yes it hurt FLA that Tebow was hurt a little this season....but if that is said, I then believe that Shockley would have destroyed FLA in 2005. Tereshinksi made it a close, close game. DJ would have been wipin his A with a FLA towel by the end.The fact is that arguing about these kinds of things is always so pointless. Would Florida have beat Georgia if Tebow was 100%? Who knows, maybe, maybe not, but we would have had to score more than 41 points to do so anyways. Would Georgia have beaten Florida a few years ago if Shockley was healthy? Maybe, maybe not. Who's to say Shockley wouldn't have had an off game? David Greene was a phenomenal QB for Georgia, yet he always stunk it up against Florida with the exception of one game. This is football, injuries are a part of the game. Overcoming them is the true measure of a team's talent.
