Then it never will be.

Love him or hate him, the defenses had to constantly account for him. He made us competitive every week.

This team couldn't beat the dolphins.

what is obvious is everyone for the last 2 years figured out how to shut vick down and then once thats done the whole team goes also

Just imagine what he could've accomplished if there were some decent talent around him. This team like you stated is a bigger joke than Miami.

It is also obvious what YKW did to this team...

Thats coming from a former Vick supporter and defender...

You are kidding right? Most were saying that this would be Vick's last season if he couldn't make the playoffs. I've seen so many article where it were stated that Schaub or anyone else could take the starting spot from Vick because this team was underperforming. Vick made this team competitive but he was always view as the problem. Someone stated that teams figured out Vick but if you look back at the games that were lost most of the blame can be laid at the feet of the defense.

Dude, why even point that out. Its obvious, and theres nothing anyone can do. Just leave it alone already.

I only point it out from a historical perspective. We keep making the same mistakes as a franchise. We were "on a plateau" with Leeman Bennett so we fired him and ended up FAR worse. We also fired Reeves to "build for the future"...what future? The grass is always greener. Even when #7 was here there was a huge percentage of the fanbase who didn't appreciate him and tried to blame our failures entirely on him. It's so obvious now that he made us much better than worse. He wasn't perfect, and his off-field problems scr**** our cap situation for years. But franchise QBs don't grow on trees.

Please face the facts that MICHEAL VICK will continue to be talked about on these boards (probably through veiled acronyms) for the next 10 years. Yes we all know what he did off the field and we are perplexed and disappointed by it. But there's also a large segment of the fan base (black and white) who remembers how he (and he ALONE) elevated this franchise into relevance for the first time in it's 40+ year existence. For those of us (and there are few) that remember the Bobby Herbert and Chris Chandelier days you remember how detached and uninterested the fan base was and more importantly how empty the dome was during game days. He created the type of enthusiasm in the city that we'll probably never see again in our lifetime. If this isn't a forum to talk about ex-Falcons (no matter who or what they are) then I question the validitity of these boards...
