Jedi.Falcon
From the AJC-------------"He put us in position to fail," said Harrington, who started 10 games, but was pulled by Petrino from that role four times. "That's messing with our livelihoods. Not just ours but our families."The game-planning/game-execution problems have gone on all season, several players said. Each time, players said they lost more respect for Petrino's ability to coach."We would spend hours practicing plays, a ton of plays, during the week," tailback Warrick Dunn said. "He'd add a bunch more during walk-through [practice, the day before the game]. We'd be in the game and he'd call plays we might have practiced once or talked about once since that Wednesday, if then."Some players said that Petrino's play calls, especially after they came off the game-opening script, were so erratic at times, that they developed their own file of plays that he tended to revert to.----------------I mean...WTF kind of low-life scum-bag would do that?Did Petrino purposely try to lose games so that his exit back to college would be easier?I HOPE THAT ##### FALLS IN FRONT OF A MOVING TRAIN!Wow! What kind of son-of-a-##### did Arthur hire here?

I am sure of that now.Just like Lawyer Milloy said - "He wasted a year of my life".And mine, too.
dyoshot
The team was terrible, but you would have to be an idiot to do some of the things Petrino did. I hope he gets run into by a player when he's on the sideline at Arkansas.

I hope he gets run into by a player when he's on the sideline at Arkansas. It seems now quite fishy some of the crap play-calling he pulled this season.1. Where was Ovie Mughelli - the HIGHEST PAID FB IN NFL HISTORY???2. Pulling Joey after a 2 game win-streak???3. Giving Dunn and his 0.12 yard-per-carry the workload of running duties when Norwood - AVERAGING OVER 6 YARDS PER ##### CARRY - was reduced to 3 or 4 carries per game???IT ALL MAKES SENSE TO ME NOW! Petrino did all this on purpose. HE TRIED HIS BEST TO LOSE!

Jedi.Falcon
Petrino engineered this entire thing from the very beginning - or at least after we lost the first few games and he lost the locker-room trust.Petrino planned his exit to a "T".Nice work, Captain Butt-Crack. Congratulations. Good luck in Ari-#####-zona, bum-#####-nowhere.Let's see how long it takes before LSU buys into your B.S. and hires you, you f*k-face lying s.o.b. nativefalcon
Case in point 2 weeks ago in the Rams game, we could have come back and won that game. And when did he start talking to Arkansas? about 2 weeks. He probabaly figured that Redman wasn't going to do anything either, then 2 quick touchdowns, was like OMG what is he doing. We might win, thats not good. I need to blow this thing. We lose.A bookies dream is a coach that is a cancer and purposly trys to lose a game. I hope there is a special corner of **** for Petrino, he helped put our team there.

Brandon Kincannon
Sabatoge! Are you so silly? Please grow a bit and do not believe everything the players think. They are players not coaches. They do not understnad much more than their position, and assignments.Really it is amazing that I gave us that much credit, but I guess the aliens are here for good
NCFalconfan
On the surface this all sounds silly...then I'm reminded of when he waits to sub in Harrington when we are 30 points back against TB, or punting on 4th and 1 and going for it on 4th and 9...or the total ignoring of Snelling when it was apparent we couldn't move the ball in short yardage situations. Or ignoring Norwood all season, etc, etc. They guy was either trying to throw a wrench in our season, or he was just a terrible coach. I would be more inclined to say he was not as interested in the game as he should have been. Whether that was to expedite the end of his tenure, or if he was just that obtuse......We may never know. the evil emperor
You have to admit the constant playing of Dunn over Norwood was very suspicious.
Mr. Offseason
man, i wouldnt be surprised. hes a snake and he seems to have an ulterior motive for anything. he has been looking for a new job every year for the past 5 years. and if you look at it, this is the THIRD job he has had in the last calendar year. its just ridiculous. i wouldnt be surprised in the least. bridson
We as fans don't even know what kind of playcalls Petrino was putting into the games. The players themselves said plays were called that were not being practiced and protection schemes put in that were not being practiced. That puts alot of stress on the guys and makes the bad OLine situation we had even worse. No wonder the receivers were running wrong routes and the offense seemed so predictable at times. I wish we could do a mulligan of the season with a different coach to see if we could have done better.

oregonsfan
I think conspiracy may be too strong a word as well, but...How many times have we been 3rd and long and screamed about a pass that was yards short of the first down marker? How often has it been said that Dunn should be benched because of his miserable runs week in and week out?As it was happening then, the majority seemed to place blame on the players (Dunn's getting old and lost a step, Harrington is afraid to throw downfield, etc.) Certainly many viewed some of the play-calling as suspect from time to time, but the bulk of the blame was put on the players.Maybe we were all wrong...it was assumed that the players were making the mistakes (Petrino called the right play, but (insert player's name here) didn't run the right route/didn't block/didn't tackle/checked-down, etc. Maybe we were all full of it...maybe the players were executing the play being called and either the play calling was consistently far worse than we suspected or the players were doing the best they could considering the play called was one that they hadn't practiced.Maybe it's time to rethink and reassess the players on this team... saint vitus
Sean Payton made some strange play calls this season that backfired, but no one thinks it's a conspiracy theory. Now if Payton were to abruptly quit to join another team, then I know the conspiracy theorists would come out in force.:hehe:
