d34ng3l021
Maybe you should have posted the whole article, in which it also specifies how many players are under contract. We have like 53, compared to everyone else who has like 30ish. After those cuts and retirements, and the money from Vick, we will shoot up that ranking. FireAndyReid
those numbers won't stay that way. i am sure there are going to be player evaluations once the new coach comes in and players will get cut, which will give the team more cash to work with.Washington is going to be in cap **** for awhile because of all those big contracts they signed for players like Coles, Randle El, etc. They will be able to get it down, but they are going to be hurting for awhile

UGA Homers LOVE Van Gomer
1. Need to get the money from Vick or at least a ruling saying we can get the cap room back.2. We will probably re-work some contracts to get some wiggle room.3. We will need to cut some other players.

The question is whether we want to use a lot of it or go for a more methodical fix, the latter being my preference.
falconawesome
I'm not a cap guy by any means but aren't our draft picks signed with money out of a different "bucket" so to speak? Where are one of our cap guys-help me out ----Go Falcons
jidady
We are alloted a rookie cap of money to pay all of our free agents. This is done to keep teams from overpaying their new players. The amount still counts against the salary cap, though.
TheCranMan
GO SOONERS!!!! (12/12/2007)we'll be 20 mil under when we get that vick moneyPlease don't fall for that fallacy of thinking we're getting any money from Mr. Vick. He'd have to personally sign over a check to Mr. Blank in order for the team to get any cap relief. He and his lawyers would quickly file for bankruptcy before that happens. falconva7
After we make some cuts (Dunn, Gandy, Brooking/Williams) we should be able to free up some space and make at least one big signing and it should be Alan Faneca (this is of course after we resign Michael Boley and DeAngelo Hall).
