jidady
Caveat: You shouldn't include your own guy in the rankings to keep bias out of it.I'm going to have to think about it for a while.

jidady
On a sidenote, if I'm Johnson, I'm getting the **** out of the SEC. He's done enough there to enjoy a gig where he has a chance at winning. As it stands, he's got no upshot with Vandy any more.
chaddawg77
Had bowden gone to Arkiesaw Bobby Johnson would have been the top choice at Clemson I think.

Remarkable
I know people won't like this, but after this season I'm not sure how you can say it's not Richt.
jdu00743
Richt is a great coach, I'm just not sure you can say he's THE BEST when he hasn't won a national title...Comes up short in that department compared to Saban, Spurrier, Meyer (who won one with Zook's players), and Fulmer. However, I definitely still put him in the same category as the elite SEC coaches. Remarkable
Spurrier and Fulmer aren't what they used to be. Meyer is overrated and I'm still not sure on Saban. Either way the SEC has more elite coaches than all the other conferences combined.
jdu00743
Sure they aren't putting up the #s they used to, but Fulmer is still up there for sure.I mean speaking of "this year", he did just win the division. And did a GREAT coaching job vs. LSU in the SECCG.They were a vastly more talented team. He's still got it, as UGA fans (should) know. Remarkable
I think you're being pretty generous. No way that should have been a team with 4 (possibly 5) losses. Fulmer is becoming famous for underachieving. He's still a good coach, but I would think a Tennessee fan especially would expect more. The difference between 4 and 8 is marginal. They're all big time. Some folks might think I'm overrating Petrino but as far as Xs and Os go, he's one of the best I have ever seen. A Spurrier/Petrino game should be electric.

Homerism aside, what two teams have been more consistent over the last 5 years than UGA and Auburn? It was nice to see Tuberville resign with Auburn. And if your a UGA fan, you gotta be excited about next season.

Next year IMO is not your best possibility for an nc.. you have a first time starter which is huge. you can't just throw someone in there and expect the same type of output. You also have to deal with that schedule where you have to face your two biggest rivals after they have bye weeks. Your best chance in years was 2 years ago.. Demetrius Dew
Wow you guys really do hate Les Miles, I don't think he is a great coach but what you guys are suggesting that LSU could win with any idiot at the helm.:blink:I think Croom deserves more credit than he gets or you guys are giving him, he does more with less better than any other coach in the SEC. LawDawg
Excluding Coach Richt:1. Steve Spurrier - Evil genius is still one of the best. Brought in the best recruiting classes ever at Carolina.2. Phil Fulmer - Great motivator and recruiter. Can down more donuts than all the SEC coaches combined.3. Urban Meyer - Innovative offensive schemes and won an SEC & National title in his 2nd year at Florida4. Tommy Tuberville - Consistently good even when he has to recruit against Bama, Georgia, and Florida State.5. Les Miles - Very good coach with a winning reputation no matter who's players he's coaching.6. Nick Saban - Highest paid in the country. Therefore ranked at 6.7. Bobby Johnson - Gets the occasional upset and can win with so little talent.8. Sylvestor Croom - Has turned Jackie Sherrill's mess into a clean, above-average program.9. Rich Brooks - Took his team to #7 in the nation, and took it right back out of the top 25.10. Bobby Petrino - Scoring against Big East defenses is nothing like scoring against SEC defenses.11. Houston Nutt - Had arguably the best SEC RB since Herschel and Bo and couldn't win a title.
