SpikeSpiegel
Well lots is going on with Petrino, He is a quitter...there I summed it up Now let's talk about something interesting...who is the Falcon's QB of the FutureFirst off will the QB be selected in next years Draft or Free Agency...and who should/will it beI like Colt Brennan...and so does Woody Paige.N/e other inputs? hawkman
Dennis Dixon all the way baby!!! Of course that's pending him making a full recovery. He would make a great 2nd round pick, with McFadden being the early first round choice.

Atowndown
Ditto...you get the best of both your needs...QB AND RB.....and you keep leftwich and Shockley as your backups.....and Start Leftwich at first next year while Dixon learns. SpikeSpiegel
hmm...I can't say I agree.Dixon is injured...We need help now, not anothe D Mcnabb.Mcfadden is a beast, I agree...but Dunn has another year or two in him and Jerious Norwood has a lot of talent but Petrino didn't give him the carries he deserved.I say go for Colt or maybe Woodson (because he is a big pocket presence)A QB is a must have in ATL, and not a wounded one
The H.N.I.C.
Could u guys stop with the dixon picks, he will not be successful in the nfl, look at the running QB's in the league, mike was never that good at throwing the ball and look at vince young, he looks like another bust. A qb needs to stay in the pocket and throw the ball, not run down field with it

When I think about excitement and optimism, I think about McFadden and Dixon. Both are character guys that have the explosive playmaking ability that Falcons fans have become accustomed to. Make it happen Mckay... that is IF you want to repair your rep as a competent GM.
Atowndown
I agree to a point....and i am leary of the injury....but just because he got hurt and it was a freak accident....i would say wait till combine.....but man....Mcfadden is that BIG Versatile back we need.....we cant have a small back anymore there are really none in the NFL.....dunn has served his time and been great....but we need a star RB of the future and i think it is D MAc.......if anything.....Woodson may be a 2nd rounder too...if thats the case id say go with him

But it is time for atlanta to move on and get a pocket qb. Dont worry guys pocket qb's are still successful!

Atowndown
lol...i agree...but Dixon Threw first ran 2nd.....that wasnt vicks or youngs philosophy......lol....i think Dixon is a different breed of mobile QB....
SpikeSpiegel
I think it may end up depending on who they bring in as head coach.I personally think Mckay needs to go b4 the draft...let the new coach make the calls...maybe this time they'll get things right

SpikeSpiegel
we saw...he hurt himself...b/c he is a scrambling QBA good pocket QB that can scramble to avoid the sack...like Brett Favre...is needed in ATLWhat about Offseason Pickups...What positions need to be hit first? nawlinsaintfan
Matt Ryan is the guy you want.... McFadden will likely be gone with the 1st or 2nd pick.... but if you guys don't take Ryan... that'd be great... for us.
busboyisback
Forget about QB.The question is what do we have to give up to get McFadden???We can put QB off if we trade for McNabb. And maybe we take a guy like Flacco/Dixon/Josh Johnson in a later round.

He's really a pass first guy who has the option to run...really, really fast. The guy ran for a TD against a great defensive team with a torn knee ligament for goodness sakes! It's not like I want Pat White at QB or anything. Everyone calm down. It won't be the end of football as we know it if our QB runs for 20 yards every once in a while! SpikeSpiegel
I will never watch another falcons game if Mcnabb is brought it.He cried until they got rid of TO, who i'm not real fond of either, and now the cowboys are looking like the team to beat in the NFC and the eagles are in a losing season...sure Mcnabb has been hurt, but that is exactly why we do not want him in ATL

TO blasted him and was insubordinate to Andy Reid in a practice and got kicked off the teamRoddy White would be the 2nd best WR Donovan has ever had and without the baggage. It's called a 2-3 year bandaid. I think we should play leftwich or redman until our franchise qb (which we will aquire in the draft) is ready to go out there and win. SpikeSpiegel
I agree...if the falcons do not get a franchise QB in this years draft and instead go for Mcnabb...then this franchise is in for years of peril

Do we really want to keep Leftwich and Harrington for that?We need a rb, Oline, a rookie qb, a veteran qb to mentor, mlb, safety, dline and now a decent coach.McNabb as an instant fix won't help anything. He is a west coast offense qb. Do we really want to go down that road again?
