Cower or Schottenheimer should be next Falcons Coach....

College Coaches are OUT!

NFL assistants are risk, too

Falcons need a proven winner with much head coaching experience and who consistently wins at the NFL level.

The two viable candidates who meet this criteria are:

1) Bill Cower

2) Marty Schottenheimer

I know Cower is the "hotter" name but I think Schottenheimer might be the better pick. Both are winners at NFL level but Marty has done in 3 places (Cleveland, KC, San Diego).

Falcons cannot afford to take a chance on a Mike Singletary or a Jason Garrett at this time.

We'd be lucky to get Garrett-ain't gonna happen. I live here in Dallas and can tell you all about it if you like. However, I will officially punch someone in the face if we hire Marty.

YOU DO NOT HIRE A 64 YEAR OLD COACH......

Not a chance we'd be any better with him. Rex Ryan, Garrett, Cowher, Singletary (who I don't really like) would all be better coaches for us than Marty....

My god....could you imagine if that the next time someone referred to Martyball, they were talking about the Falcons? yuck.....

I hear what you are saying about "martyball" but I tell you what - say what you want about Marty - and yes, he can't win the big one......BUT, like Dan Reeves, the guy is a winner.

Marty won in Cleveland

Marty won in Kansas City

Marty won in San Diego

How many other NFL coaches have won in multiple places? some, but not many.

Marty would turn the team around, instill discipline and they would eventually win...

The only thing I don't like about Marty is his inablility to win when it counts. I live in KC and watched (pre Sunday ticket) the Cheifs be a very good team until playoff time and they just fall apart. I like the idea of Marty and winning but I'd like to see a good run in the playoffs as well.

I'm leaning toward Singletary.
