feelnu
How can a guy tell an adult male what to do after quiting the first year when times get hard. Isn't that what you talk about during half time when the team is down? What can he tell a team when times are hard to motivate them and give them some type of pride and determination? DavidsonFalcon
I know we are all disappointed in Petrino, me especially. I bought into all the "Petrino is righting this ship" rhetoric just as much as the next guy, so naturally, I was shocked and appalled yesterday when I heard he had resigned. He is a coward and a liar, and he will probably never get another shot in the NFL again. However, now that I know his heart was not with the falcons, I'm glad he just up and left. The last thing we needed was for him to leave after cleaning house this offseason. Think about how screwed the Falcons would be if he bailed after cutting/trading some of our key pieces (i.e. Dhall). So, lets Thank Bobby Petrino for not leading us on for longer than was necessary. I'm super happy that he finally landed what you were always after, an SEC job! YAY! In light of what we now know, we are ultimately better off without this quitter and NFL reject college coach.DavidsonFalcon
ganoleman
i am actually not mad at him..the thing that bothers me is the loyalty...how can you live with yourself...the timing.....to have a PC announcing you are the HC at AK just hours after quitting....wow. bucwench
Hi, everyone. Just wanted you to know that we Bucs fans may be division rivals, but most of usfeel badly this has happened to you. It's already been a rough year for your team, and this just piles on. There is a thread on our message board about Petrino, and I think you would be surprised to see the support you're getting over there. As I said in one of my posts in that thread: Changing his mind mid-season is a childish, selfish move. He's deserting a team he signed a contract to lead. When the going gets tough, the arrogant mama's boys get lost.Chins up, guys--things can only get better.
Skoal Brother
I dont feel that angry towards BP today. I hate it that he's gone, but look what the guy has dealt with over the past year. Also by leaving now he has given the Falcons a very good start for next year cause we all know that this year is OVER.I defended the guy when D Hall was screaming at him on the sidelines and AC was bitching about him to the press. Maybe the guy is a college coach and thats it. I have always felt that Buddy Ryan / Jerry Glanville / Tom Moore Were the best at running a D or O but were not suited for a HC job that in my opinion should not take away from the man.Who knows maybe we will end up with Mike Singletary as our new Head Coach the only question would be who will Arthur hire as the GM after he (I hope and pray) fires McKay

falconawesome
To Bobby Pigtrino,Thank you for your decision to leave the Falcons. Now I might have the opportunity to see our Falcons come together and give me something to cheer about. When I went to training camp this year I heard the rumblings from employees and players alike about how you might not be the right guy-but like they did-I (and many others) gave you the benefit of the doubt. Now all I can say is I hope you take your explosive, high powered offensive mind and fail miserably at each and every endeavor you take on until you leave this earth. Best Wishes-Falconawesome

DAVIES
This one time, when I was in Mexico, I was at a bar. In the bar was Petrino and a Donkey. For twenty bucks, Petrino would . . .Never mind.

falkonfan
I too bought into Petrino's righting the ship, horse puckey! He never cared about what happened here and alot of his decision making or lack thereof makes sense now. Was he trying to make us look so bad that no one would want to come here and play? Good riddance Loser. ! Arkansas, be very wary of your new hire. He is already looking for his next job. (Sarcasm on) Mrs. Petrino must be so proud of her husband, a real man of character and integrity. (Sarcasm off) GO BIRDS!
feelnu
Loyalty is number one in sports. That's apart of the definition of TEAM. This is just another example of the money driven league. It makes it so easy for the management and coaching staff to have no accountability. Its not fair when the players are micro managed and criticized daily by the media, scouts, and management. Petrino should be sued. Blank has to shell out a lot of money for all of these wasted contracts.

feelnu
I'm kinda hurt about all of this. I've been a falcons fans since a child. I loved Bartkowski. As a child growing up in the 70s & 80s(post segregation), Atlanta was still kinda divided. One thing about the Falcons games, you never saw that. Everyone came together one day out of the week. It was beautiful. Just like myself there are many fans that really want to support this team and organization. As fans we've dealt with a lot of disappointments with this team. It sure doesn't give you a warm feeling inside when discussing this team. The organization should really take their time and choose a candidate who could is truly loyal to this community, Arthur Blank, and the Team. Mr.Blank I'm sure it hurts. The two people you feel you could count on, just pissed all over your trust and generosity. Next time don't pay those mofos shyt. Every contract should be incentive laced. Who cares if they don't sign, don't let this happen again.
