grmnfootballer
Well now that we are headcoach-less, I wanted to see who everybody thought should be his replacement. There are obviously some great coaches out there. Marty Schottenheimer, **** Vermeil, Jeff Cowher, Tuna. Now I know some of those coaches are supposedly "retired" but based on my knowledge that does not mean too much in the world of sports.Any thoughts? FalcsForLife
Some Coordinators that could be candidates are:Jim Schwartz (Titans DC)Josh McDaniels (Patriots OC)Jason Garrett (Cowboys OC)Mike Singletary (49ers Assistant HC/defense)Hue Jackson (Falcons OC)Russ Grimm (Cardinals OC)Jim Haslett (Rams DC)Gregg Williams (Redskins Assistant HC/defense)And BTW it's Bill Cowher

We don't need to chance schemes again, and I would like to see Zimmer step up for HC, and allow Hue Jackson to step up to OC and playcalling duties. keithbrooking56
We need a proven head coach now. We either go after Cowher or Marty, no more hotshot coordinators or some college "genius".
MidWest Falcon
I think I'm jumping on the Singletary band wagon. He will bring new blood and an intensity that the Atlanta Falcons need

I don't think any of the big name coaches will come out of retirment for the Falcons job though...IMHO.

L.Rover
FalcsForLife (12/12/2007)He has 3 games to show us what he's got.I am not looking for him to come in and win the next 3 games for us, if that is what you mean. I would like to see how the players respond to him, but Zimmer going 0-3 shouldn't count him out of the job, and to be honest neither should 3-0. We need someone who can come in and lead this team for atleast 5 years.

grmnfootballer
So, you guys dont think that Marty Schottenheimer would be an option? Personally I would LOVE to have him as our coach.

bring in billy joe
FalcsForLife (12/12/2007)Yeah I'm really happy to see Coach Thomas get the nod.Dumb move by Atlanta in that he has been demoted over time after being D coordinator in Minnesota but maybe shrewd in that it doesn't show favoritism to either Zimmer or Jackson. I hope Thomas is not a serious contender for HC next year.

What Grimm has done with the line out there is world class in a very short period of time, too.
DeathFromAbove
We had Wade Philips here at the end of 03, he went 3-1 after Reeves had his hissy fit and left, McBlank sent him packing. And last time I checked the Boys are the #1 seed in the NFC. Coach Thomas has the respect of every member of this organization and they will fight for him. I wouldn't mind seeing hime be named the HC because we need to keep this ship as stable as possible.
