We need a Leader ... Doug Plank

This franchise is back sliding in the worst way. With the city divided and Bobby P running away to Arkansas, we need a coach that can pull the team together, we need someone who respects the game, someone who the players will respect, and someone who respect our city, and not clash with the media.

I hope Mr Blank reads this, and thinks about hiring Doug Plank, he is a part of the organization already since he coaches the Force. He was one of the toughest guys to ever play in the league. Players would respect him, and he would bring respect to the team , that needs it more than ever!

He is a proven winner where ever he has been. Make him Head Coach and bring in Mike Singletary was his assistant.

We dont need a retread right now, not someone who has been around and gets hired just because he has been there before. Sorry I dont want the same old guys, and please dont hire a college coach.

If we get Plank we will be getting someone who will get the job done!

He is by far the Greatest Coach in the AFL. But I kinda like him where he is. Not sure if he is ready to Head coach the big boyz. Now D Cordinator now you got me intrested.

By the way if you want to try to ask him he periodiclly visits the Force forum.

The fans would go crazy if this happened, but to be honest, I don't think it's all that bad of an idea. While the short term benifits are not there, I really can see Plank being successful long term (3-5 years). Plank wouldn't put up with this crazy shat that is coming from some of the punks we currently have on the roster.

Again, I don't think it would happen because Plank isn't "sexy" enough, but like someone said before, DC is a **** fine idea.

ghoticov, did you log into your Jimmy account?

no #####, that is not me.

Believe it or not, it is a good idea and I am not the only one who thinks so.

Fans, in general, are dumb and Blank probably won't do it because the fans, in general, would go nuts because no one knows who he is.

But within a few years, the Falcons would be back on the map under Plank's leadership.

Please let us know the lottery numbers for this weekend while you are at it.

I don't gamble.

What I stated was an opinion above, not a fact.

Nope. Bring in Singletary to be the head coach and let the Arena Coach stay in the Arena league. Better yet, bring in somebody that is up to the task, like Cowher.

I like Singletary a lot, but he hasn't done anything to date to qualify him as a head coach.

Doug Plank is already the most successful head coach in the AFL over his first three years, and on that note, "let the Arena Coach stay in the Arena League" isn't going to happen. Plank has too many people who respect him as a person, coach, and business man, to keep him in the AFL much longer. If we're LUCKY Doug might take the Atlanta job. Otherwise someone else is going to give him a shot soon. He won't stay in the AFL much longer - he doesn't have much else to prove.

I find it perplexing that so many people want to discount him as an arena coach, but yet so many college coaches are considered top prospects at the NFL level. AFL coaches deal with football players in a professional environment, not as students. They have experience in the BUSINESS of football, not academic finger-crossing and pep rallys. If a guy has the 11-man credentials of Doug Plank with a proven track record of guiding grown men to successful football, there's really no reason he should take a back seat to any candidate out there, in my opinion.
