jidady
I would bump the Disaster Season thread if I could. This is the lowest point I can ever recall for the Falcons, which is really, really saying something.
Millennium Falcon
I don't need to respond with too many thoughts and words right now because, basically, I may regret my words later . . .
nuccah
Zimmer for HC!
DeathFromAbove
Once again it's the situation where I wanted to be wrong, TRULY WANTED TO BE WRONG, and UNFORTUNATELY was proven to be right.I've been saying all season there was a good chance he'd bolt and gotten slammed in here for it...just like when I said MV would never take the Falcons to the SB, among other predictions. Marty Ball anyone?
dardan
At this point, I am completely numb. Nothing can happen this season to phase me.This season can't end soon enough. Now is as good a time as any. Let Petrino go today. Name Zimmer the interim head coach and start lining up interviews for replacements. MidWest Falcon
I am speachless.....well I gues we get a completely lean slate now. Could end up being better for us in the long run.
drk_nte
Someone needs to find the reset button on this season quick, before the autosave kicks in. Oh wait, this isn't Madden?
nobkowski
I think the embarrasing display of a few players last night was the last straw.
Jerry Maguire
I'm shocked. I thought he was going to stay and rebuild the team. But I will say this. Sometimes it takes for a person (and in this case a franchise) to hit rock bottom before positive change is made. Many of the world's most successful people triumphed in their worst times, and in this case, I hope this sounds true for our team.

robbyb03
Bring back Jim Mora! Mora, Zimmer, and a NEW offensive coordinator(not a WR coach) would be an excellent group for coaches!

falcoholic (The Commish)
Arthur Blank deserves so much better than this. Mora, Vick, now Petrino... what an awful stretch it's been for him (and us).I'm looking forward to reflecting on this fiasco and having a good laugh. Hope it's sooner, rather than later. wallace francis
falcoholic (12/11/2007)Arthur Blank deserves so much better than this. He's got nobody to blame but himself. He was clearly involved in all the key decisions that got the team to where it is today. root down
as a Razorback I'm freakin ecstatic, as a falcons fan I'm just like "what the f else, man"who can blame him. He was sold a bill of goods that turned out to be rotten.I agree, I think the attitude and response of some players broke the camels back. Remarkable
It's too bad Georgia doesn't play Arkansas next year. I would love to see that massacre. Anyways, as a guy on the MARTA said last night, "Yo, it's time for us to scrabble this #####, just throw em all in a bag and start over." If you're going to lay all the 'blame' at Arthur's feet, then make sure you give him all the 'credit' when the team returns to compete for a division title and more.Personally, I think he's got three people to blame for Vick, Mora and Petrino. That would be:1) Vick2) Moraand 3) let's see... oh yeah, Petrino
UCSBDirtyBird
What a punk, Hopefully this means we can resign D Hall a little easier. It seems like Petrino never really got along with the players, so this really shouldn't be all that suprising; but for some reason it is... keithbrooking56
I will take written apologies for those of you on this board that went overboard trying to discredit me or flame me for being honest about Petrino. :PThis is honestly the best news I've had all season long. The fake pro coach is back to going where he belongs and this franchise is FREE. AMEN!
