Here's a question:

Since Kerney opted out of his contract, does that still count as the contract expiring?


I dont remember the exact wording but you can rest assured that Kerney does count in the compensatory picks equation when those are settled.

I know Kerney is having a nice season but it wont be enough for a third based on two things: the FAs we aquired that has to balanced against the loss (most notably the most expensive full back in the NFL) and the size of the contract Kerney signed...

Sadly production doesn't have anything to do with how high of a pick we get.

It's How big of a contract he signed followed by how many starts he had.

With signing a 40 million dollar contract and playing all 16 games he should get us a good 4th round pick. Nate Clements when he signed 80 million and played all 16 games got a 3rd.
