magnus23
A lack of emphasis on the offensive line, safety, and kicking positions is signature McKay ... and we are paying for it now.Without a great draft and cap relief from the Vick nightmare ... we will be sitting hear again next year looking forward to another high draft pick.Go Hawks! Now I too think McKay is doing a poor job but I would hate to see this turn into a "fire Rich McKay" day. At some point we have to stop the bloodshed and let things play out. magnus23
I believe Tim Ruskell did.John McKay should have drafted John Wendling with a second day pick .... when he had the chance.

ATLBrave
Well, when a team gives up 4 picks just to move 3 spots ahead of you..for Eric Weddle..then maybe it's just not meant to be.

direwolf
You know, it still seems like a lot of people think that McKay works in a vacuum. His entire mentality (and this is from interviews with McKay himself and with Blank) is consensus building. He gets EVERY opinion and they work until everyone agrees.Regarding the offensive line, Gibbs was in charge of that and did NOT want any high draft picks on the line.Regarding the kicking game, our special teams coaches would have had quite a bit of say in it.Regarding Ruskell, he was with McKay for a LONG time. If he's a good GM, where do you think he learned it?Does McKay have responsibility for his draft picks? Sure. But he doesn't deserve to be crucified for them as if he was working alone. He drafted the players that the coaches wanted. Now we have an entirely new coaching staff and we have to re-gear for them. We've already started, in case you haven't noticed. If we have another draft like the one we had this year (which looks like it could be one of our best ever), we'll be in much better shape. In the meantime, we're left with the players brought in by a coaching staff that wanted small players at big-player positions and we're paying for it.Direwolf

I think emotional nitpicking and scapegoating is easier for them than actually using logic.
draftjunky
Its hard to argue with ruskells supreme abilities!Heck, they beat the cardinals yesterday.Bring on the pats and get it over with right?Keep telling yourself the refs took the superbowl from you and your winning it this year.Remember what your mom said"take your umbrella to the bus stop it rains a lot in seattle!":w00t:
