Seems to me Darren Mcfadden gets all this hype as a one man show even though he's not the only star RB on his own team and he's been running behind a great O-line. jidady
It's no surprise that Arkansas' line is exceptional. In fact, I posted a link to Scout.com last month that indicated they had the second best offensive line in college football after Tennessee. If you want to determine the difference McFadden makes, compare his stats to Arian Foster's, the only other player in the country who similarly benefited from such dominant blocking. Foster gets 90 yards a game at 5 yards a carry. McFadden gets 144 yards a game at 5.7 yards a carry. The line can only do so much. The RB still matters. halsey
Speaking of ypc, it's interesting to note that every Arkansas back that got 20 or more carries averaged 5.7ypc or better. Felix Jones averaged 9.1ypc and Michael Smith averaged 7.5ypc. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=170941
