nativefalcon
If you were Arthur blank and you just saw a QB that sat on your bench ,the whole season, wouldn't you be questiong Petrino? Why isn't this guy playing?
nativefalcon
When he gets you 2 TDs in 2 drives compared to the other QBs?
toughd
I would have "questioned" petrino allready on one of the other 5,876,987,534,765 stupid moves he has made this year allready. Thats just one.

nativefalcon
So you wanted Redman to start all season then? Electric Falcon
Not really, I mean he built his entire playbook around a QB that is sitting in Jail right now so that really isn't an issue in my opinion. Plus this is a team that was built by Jim Mora Jr. Not Bobby Petrino. Also it must be mentioned that Bobby Petrino was mentioned during the game today vs. the Rams as saying he has no plans of leaving and loves being the Atlanta Falcons Head Coach......:P

I'm not saying he's leaving, I think he'll stay, just playing devil's advocate.
Don Solo
At this point in time, no, I wouldn't be asking anything. It is the coach's responsibility to coach the team through the course of the year, and an effective owner should not be meddling with how the coach is guiding the team. I will go out on a limb and say that Petrino probably knows just a little bit more about the game of football than either Blank, you, me, or anybody else blabbing on this board about how "dumb" Petrino supposedly is. texasbirdfan
Guys this is not college. The head coach doesn't recruit players. He is supposed to teach, game plan and devise schemes. Petrino DOES NOT draft players. He is NOT the front office.

FalconJerry
It was just one game you have to see him play more I'm not saying I didn't like what I seen though, just to quick to judge

celtiksage
Actually, if it were up to me, which it's probably a good thing it isn't, Harrington would have never gotten another snap except by injury. Redman would have been in a long time ago, because I knew after his first and second start that Leftwich wasn't worth the money I paid him, and JH could never carry a team to more than 3 or 4 wins in a season. The fact that JH didn't need to be on the field was obvious early on. So, all I'd be asking Petrino is "What took you so long to make that decision?"celtik
statz
Not really. Redman played well but let's be realistic. The D didn't gameplan for him. They didn't expect him to play and didn't know his strengths or weakness.

mbh61
I like to think that if I were Mr. Blank I would have been too smart to hire such a coach in the first place.
BirdyDird
Good point! We all seem to think that we know what's going on behind the scenes just by reading the paper and watching the games on Sunday. If we were truly smarter than BP, we would be coaching and not him. I still have faith in Bobby, but it does seem like he makes some bonehead decisions, especially lately...

cyofish
Well, if they start Redman again let's see if he is consistent! Playing well 1 1/2 quarters don't mean jack. However, I do agree Redman seemed to have more command of the offense, made quick decisions, and threw the ball better. Still, this was only 1 1/2 quarters. Also remember Romo sat on the bench for 4 seasons, Brady for a couple of seasons, Delhomme was on the practice squad.... No, I don't think Blank or any other person who understands football will question why Redman was on the bench all season.
dyoshot
I have tried my absolute hardest to give Petrino the benefit of the doubt, but with every game that goes on, I lose more and more confidence in him. It's not the losses, this isn't the most talented team. It's more the choosing of Matt Prater, Two pitch plays with Dunn on short yardage, interaction (or lack of it) with players, and numerous other questionable play calls. I really hope I'm wrong, I want anyone associated with the Falcons to succeed, Blank on down. However, it's really hard to believe in him after all that I've seen.
