let me know what you guys think

resign: hall, boley, clabo

release:gandy, horn, dunn, weiner, forney, anderson

paycut or cut: brooking, coleman

this draft i will trade down a few slots in the 1st and get a 2nd as compensation, giving us 3 seconds. i figure we get a 4th for kerney, 7th for grifith, and a 6th for rossum. i know it's not correct yet so just guessing.

1. brian brohm qb 6'4 225 (won't start unless of injury, is perfect for petrino's system)

2. jonathan stewart rb 5'11 235 (power back thats needed for this system, we get the qb with the 1st and the rb /w 2nd)

2. chris williams lt 6'6 320 (have to start fixing the ol and this guy will be very good value in the 2nd)

2. heath benedict g/t 6'6 335 (replacement for forney, also good value in the 2nd)

3. dre moore ut 6'4 305 (i'm tired of not having enough good dl, is very good run stuffer for an ut)

4. jonathan goff mlb 6'4 240 (brooking's replacement in a couple years)

4. b.j. raji nt 6'1 340 (great run stuffer)

5. art carmody k 5'9 168 (when petrino was there was 8 for 8 from 40+, and 5 for 5 from 50+ we need a kicker)

6. fernando velasco c 6'3 320 (**** big center for this system)

6. brian witherspoon cb/kr 5'10 165(supposedly runs a 4.19 to 4.25 40 great on kr, raw as cb)

7. kolo kapanui te 6'3 271 (great combination of size, speed, and strength)

7. haruki nakamura fs 5'10 196(through 9 games 61 tackles, 4 int, 3 ff, shows some fire)

offense:

qb-harrington, shockley, brohm

rb-stewart, norwood, snelling

fb- ovie, snelling

wr-white, jenkins, robinson, norwood, jennings

te- crumpler, milner, kolo,

agree on all.

release:gandy, horn, dunn, weiner, forney, anderson

i like weiner...a bit of an injury bug this year, but he has played well.

paycut or cut: brooking, coleman

this draft i will trade down a few slots in the 1st and get a 2nd as compensation, giving us 3 seconds. i figure we get a 4th for kerney, 7th for grifith, and a 6th for rossum. i know it's not correct yet so just guessing.

interesting strategy.

1. brian brohm qb 6'4 225 (won't start unless of injury, is perfect for petrino's system)

--i like woodson, but i think brohm is this years brady quinn

2. jonathan stewart rb 5'11 235 (power back thats needed for this system, we get the qb with the 1st and the rb /w 2nd)

he's probably a first, but i love the concept behind the pick. maybe trade next years first and get both?

2. chris williams lt 6'6 320 (have to start fixing the ol and this guy will be very good value in the 2nd)

great pick, instant starter and upgrade.

2. heath benedict g/t 6'6 335 (replacement for forney, also good value in the 2nd)

i like the g/t types--gives us great depth at very least

3. dre moore ut 6'4 305 (i'm tired of not having enough good dl, is very good run stuffer for an ut)

agree. lets spend a **** draft pick and get a good dt/ut for once. no more midgets like the babs pick.

4. jonathan goff mlb 6'4 240 (brooking's replacement in a couple years)

probably not, but nice depth and st help

4. b.j. raji nt 6'1 340 (great run stuffer)

love the pick...love it...

5. art carmody k 5'9 168 (when petrino was there was 8 for 8 from 40+, and 5 for 5 from 50+ we need a kicker)

got to agree. coutou would be another one.

6. fernando velasco c 6'3 320 (**** big center for this system)

not sure that weve given up on datish. if so, then no to this pick. good spot for a g/c backup type. or even de depth.

6. brian witherspoon cb/kr 5'10 165(supposedly runs a 4.19 to 4.25 40 great on kr, raw as cb)

don't know of him.

7. kolo kapanui te 6'3 271 (great combination of size, speed, and strength)

7. haruki nakamura fs 5'10 196(through 9 games 61 tackles, 4 int, 3 ff, shows some fire)

don't know the last two at all, but i like the positions picked.

offense:

qb-harrington, shockley, brohm

shockley is toast, as is harrington. it'll be leftwich, a fa p/u and the draft pick stud.

rb-stewart, norwood, snelling

not bad at all. like the look of this rotation.

fb- ovie, snelling

yup

wr-white, jenkins, robinson, norwood, jennings

interesting you put norwood here, as most scouts projected him as a wr. i actually think a metcalfe type role will get the most out of jerious.

te- crumpler, milner, kolo,

sure, but crumps health is starting to worry me.

lt- williams( 6'6 320), foster

lg-blaylock(6'4 329) , clabo

c-velasco(6'3 320) , datish

rg- benedict(6'6 335), quarterman

rt- foster(6'7 330), clabo

i'm hoping we try out quarterman this year--350 pounds can't hurt.

de- abe, moore

nt- raji, lewis, moore

ut- lewis, moore, babs

de- anderson, davis

slb- boley

mlb- brooking, goff, taylor

wlb- nicholas, brooking

cb- hall

cb- houston, witherspoon, lewis

fs- williams, crocker, nakamura

ss- stone, crocker, harris

k- art carmody

p- m. keonan

kr- witherspoon

pr- jennings, witherspoon

nice overall draft.

nice overall draft.

honestly if we could get brohm, stewart, and williams we get an a+ for those 3 alone.

the last 3 are d2 guys.

kolo kapanui is a usc transfer(because of medical problems) he is healthy this year, and when healthy he is physically gifted and can take over games.

nakamura is a smaller fs(but so was bob sanders and we know how he turned out) that someone here on the board showed us video for i liked his fire.

witherspoon is a kr pretending to be a cb but he is awesome as a kr/pr (they actually said they had him clocked at 4.19 and several sites have him at 4.25 he is a state track champion.

i like taking some chances on unknown guys, and lewis hasn't done anything to change my mind.
