let's talk about current draft status for a moment

to the best of my knowledge, there are only four draft sites on the web that employ actual former nfl scouts rather than guys with an opinion who want to be nfl scouts. those are ourlads. war room at tsn, espn and nfl draft scout. these are the guys in contact with nfl personnel men rather than folks like us speculating and putting some html up. i know that some folks quote a couple of other guys, but i'm sticking to folks who have credentials and a track record of success. i can't find gosselin's current positional rankings at the moment. if you can, please post them for all of our entertainment.

war room is always a bit funky with their projections as they only do them three times a year: at the start of the season, after the season is over, and after the combine. this makes them unreliable during the football season, so i ignore them until january. anybody who has king dunlap as the 10th best player in the draft needs to re-think their parameters.

ourlads doesn't include underclassmen until they declare. their top 10 board is currently:

espn includes all the players they expect to go in the draft. they have run dmc as their top overall player and have also given him a 99, a higher score than ronnie brown (98), cadillac williams (97), cedric benson (96), steven jackson (94) or peterson (98) received. these are the other recent early 1st round draft picks except for reggie bush, who also got a 99.

just looking at the diversity of opinion here about the qbs, you can see why there is cause to believe one of them will slide out of the early part of the draft.
