trade alge

Recommended Posts

im all for trading anyone who isnt going to be here in 3-5 years...

we are rebuilding, and im not real sure whether a great pass catching te is going to be used a lot in this offense...

we may be able to get a 3rd/4th for alge from a team like the raiders. they use the wco and im sure knapp would

love to have him back, especially since they have no real threats as wr's...

we may get a pick for harrington from a team in need of a back up... jax?

we also may be able to trade mcclure/forney to a team who uses the zbs... carolina?

brooking/sanders???

crumpler will have more trade value than a 3rd rounder. he has been in the league for a while, and his knee has been a problem this season, but he will fetch more than a second day pick. te's that block well and can be dominant receivers are not easy to find. after a season that will use him sparingly, his knee will be much healthier.

the raiders are probably the ideal trading partner for crumpler. knapp used crump extensively here and would love to have him in oakland. the raiders have drafted a few young te's but not one of them can do what crump does. the raiders drafted russell to be their qb, so andrew walter sits the bench. our fo made moves to trade for walter earlier this year.

putting it all together, we could trade crump for walter straight up.

the media would naturally give oakland the credit for pulling off the better trade, but we may end up with our qb of the future. i would hate to lose a player like crump. he has been a solid citizen, a reliable go-to receiver and a stable presence in the locker room. however, it is obvious that petrino wants a spread attack that features a lot of wr's and few te's. i have been hawking this trade for a couple of weeks. crump gets to once again work in an offense that features his talents and we get a player that fills a need.

we need to build a better ol via the draft. why burn a high draft pick on a qb when we can trade for one of similar quality?

good post...

if i was mckay though, id push oakland to give up a little more for crump than just walter...

knapp would bend over backwards for crumps services imo, so we may even be able to squeeze a 3rd/4th

out of them with walter...
