of course, there's the two sec championships in 2002 and 2005. there's also a slew of memorable victories: 26-24 over tennessee in 2001 and a 26-13 over florida state in the 2002 sugar bowl, among others, not to mention a perfect 6-0 mark against georgia tech.

but when it comes to the gators, richt and bulldogs have had little success.

the gators hold a 5-1 advantage over georgia since richt came aboard in 2001, the only victory coming in 2004 when the bulldogs won 31-24 over their arch rival.

"a rival game needs to be more equal in who wins and loses, which it hasn't been lately," richt said.

"it's been a rivalry of streaks. it's not like our rivalry with auburn, which just seems to be very close games and also spread out to where no one has had a huge run, at least lately. florida has just been dominating as of late, where earlier georgia used to dominate."

although the following may be a painful journey, ugasports.com decided to take a look at the georgia-florida series during richt's tenure. in case you forgot, here's what happened:

2001 florida 24, georgia 10

defense. what defense?

there certainly wasn't much as far the bulldogs were concerned as rex grossman and company rolled up 584 yards of total offense, the most against georgia in the history of the series.

georgia tried to rally late in the fourth quarter, but a fumble by quarterback david greene who had been hit by safety marquand manuel gave the gators back the ball.

the bulldogs had a chance in the third quarter.

trailing by a mere touchdown, the bulldogs drove to the gators' 6-yard line but failed to convert a fourth-and-2 when verron haynes was stopped short of the first down.

greene passed for 258 yards for georgia, while freshman receiver fred gibson had seven catches for 131 yards.

defensively, junior linebacker boss bailey had two interceptions in the first half.

2002 - florida 20, georgia 13

rex grossman passed for 339 yards and two touchdowns, as the 22nd-ranked florida gators dropped no. 5 georgia from the ranks of the unbeaten.trailing 13-12 early the in fourth quarter, grossman capped a 10-play 89-yard drive when he hit ben troupe with a 10-yard touchdown pass to put the gators up 18-13.

grossman ran the two-point conversion in to give the gators a seven-point lead they would never surrender.

marcus oquendo-johnson sacked georgia quarterback david greene on the final play of regulation to preserve the victory. the loss dropped georgia to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in sec play.

j.t. wall got the bulldogs on the board first in the opening quarter, catching a 10-yard pass from greene for a 7-0 lead.

the gators pulled within a point early in the second quarter when grossman hit aaron walker for a 5-yard touchdown pass.

the kick failed and the gators trailed 7-6. guss scott put the gators on top when he intercepted a d.j. shockley pass and returned it 47 yards for a touchdown.

a pair of field goals by billy bennett accounted for the rest of georgia's scoring.

2003 - florida 16, georgia 13

florida extended its string of success against no. 4 georgia (7-2, 4-2) when matt leach kicked a field goal with 33 seconds in the game to give the gators the victory.
