resign roddy white now!

he has been the most consistent player on offense this season. he's young and talented and doesn't fit into the prima donna wr role. we need young leaders like this in the locker room and he's only going to get better once we have consistency at qb.

we need to sign him to a long-term deal before he goes somewhere else.

thoughts?

he still has some time left on his current contract, but he has definitely turned the corner and has looked really good. he has so much confidence .. it is great to see.

this is why people need to be patient with players. up until a couple weeks into the season a good deal of the board was in an uproar to get rid of roddy. now he's become our most consistent threat at wr since finneran broke out a few years ago.

people bashed houston through preseason and a bunch of games and now he's getting major praise from milloy and hall for how he's growing up.

people are dogging jamaal anderson saying he's a bust... give him time. people called kerney a bust for the first two years of his career but he sure turned out ok didn't he????

give guys a chance to develop, don't be so quick to discard them because it took a while for them to grow into an nfl player.

let's wait and see if he can keep it up and not let success get to his head.

remember that it doesn't take long for a wr to become a pre-madonna.

they first have to start making plays so they get more cameras in their face.

that's when you have to worry. let's see how well roddy handles success because he traditionally hasn't done a good job.

but then again when vick is your example you're probably not working that hard in the offseason and thinking everyone owes you something...

he still drops a few too many passes....

no more than other #1's in the league and compared to last year he's a pro-bowler.he's not gonna do a complet 180 from garbage to golden in one off-season.he's still getting better every week and his drops are way down.he had one yesterday and that was his first in a few games.

so does t.o. it comes with having passes thrown to him. besides, signing him right now, could be a bargain, if he continues developing as he has.

what do y'all think of resigning jenkins? he's underused, but he seems to be a reliable slot man.

has that become the new way to complain? by freaking out over who we havent extended contracts to?

nope. i think the whole vick situation has taught the majority something a few here new about prior.. the salary cap & how bad decisions can effect the team for years to come.

moves like hartwell, price, webster, ect...

i'd like to wait 1 more year before taking that route.

this is his only good season so far. at least lets see if he can continute to improve before we invest sevral more years in him.

you are right clown, but this is very typical of nfl wrs, they struggle the first 2 years or so then do well year 3.

sometimes they come back to the struggles in year 4 and sometimes they continue to excel.

thats why we should we resign him with some nice incentive clauses, kind of like what moss got from the pats like 250,000 for 40 catches , 400,000 for 50 catches, 600,000 for 60 catches ( and so on and so on)

roddy and michael should definitely get an extension, if they can keep up the good work through next year. wow...vick is out and all of a sudden the wideouts don't look so bad! i did grimace when roddy dropped that potential td catch in the mnf bengals game during the preseason, but this season has made up for that. kinda like how romo's great season this year is making up for that fumbled field goal that lost them the playoffs last year...:x
