xrage
everyone knows the offensive line sucks and that is the main reason why we are struggling so bad. but i look at this situation the way petrino looked at the harrington-leftwich situation. if your starter is getting ample opportunities to make something happen and just isn't doing anything, even if it's not entirely their fault, then you have to try something else. playing leftwich didn't all of a sudden make the offensive line better, but it did produce some kind of spark. we need to start giving norwood at least 15 carries a game. we need to see what he's about and get an idea if he can be an every-down type of back or not. at this point with our 1-6 record, we aren't contending for anything so we'll just have to take our lumps when it comes to his blocking ability. the more we know about our young guys going into next season the better off we'll be. Mr. Offseason
bottom line- the o-line sucks.i agree.however, dunn is wearing down. we could really use a power back, like duece was for the saints, to allow reggie to come in and slash and run against a worn down defense. thats when bush was most effective and that was when norwood was most effective.but i agree, we need to spend a couple picks on our oline (2nd on tony hills and 3rd or 4th on shannon tevaga anyone? lt and rg holes filled...) signout
no rb could be consistent behind this ol as too often other teams defense play behind the ol, but with norwood on the 1 or 2 times there are holes for him to run through, he can make a big play or take it to the distance. with dunn it just might be a 10 or 15 yards gain. the way i look at it, if you are not going to have a consistent running game, i think you would at least want a homerun when you do get the chance instead of a single or double. HOYLE
you appear to have skipped some carries, why?
chosun
no rb could be consistent behind this ol as too often other teams defense play behind the ol, but with norwood on the 1 or 2 times there are holes for him to run through, he can make a big play or take it to the distance. with dunn it just might be a 10 or 15 yards gain. the way i look at it, if you are not going to have a consistent running game, i think you would at least want a homerun when you do get the chance instead of a single or double.that is the way i see it too.. neither back is a tackle breaking straight up the gut run over a lb type of back.. but alteast norwood has the speed to run through temporary holes and he is homerun threat if we give him the ball.. give it to him more and that homerun possibility becomes greater and great.. dunn should be in on passing downs, cuz his running hasn't helped us one bit
atlbraves1
it doesn't matter what back we have until we have a oline that is worth a shiot.unless we bring back barry sanders.
