a bunch of people are calling for dunn to be cut or benched in favor of norwood. i have to disagree. norwood isn't that good. he is great if he can get by the los without being touched, but he gets knocked down if he thinks about being tackled. norwood's 5 year old nephew can take him down. he has great speed, and that pads his stats a little if he manages to get in the open field. the majority of his runs are just like dunn's: 2 yards or less, with alot of negative yards. he breaks 2 or 3 long gains a game, the rest of them he runs into a brick wall and he can't break tackles. i went through the play-by-plays of all the games and the results are in. norwood sucks. give dunn an o-line and he will get you the hard earned yards that norwood can't.

everyone knows the offensive line sucks and that is the main reason why we are struggling so bad. but i look at this situation the way petrino looked at the harrington-leftwich situation. if your starter is getting ample opportunities to make something happen and just isn't doing anything, even if it's not entirely their fault, then you have to try something else. playing leftwich didn't all of a sudden make the offensive line better, but it did produce some kind of spark. we need to start giving norwood at least 15 carries a game. we need to see what he's about and get an idea if he can be an every-down type of back or not. at this point with our 1-6 record, we aren't contending for anything so we'll just have to take our lumps when it comes to his blocking ability. the more we know about our young guys going into next season the better off we'll be.

however, dunn is wearing down. we could really use a power back, like duece was for the saints, to allow reggie to come in and slash and run against a worn down defense. thats when bush was most effective and that was when norwood was most effective.

dunn hasn't gone over 100 yards rushing since week 5 of 2006.

he's done. he's washed up. he's a 32 year old rb who's played about 11 years in the nfl. it's natural for him to be done at this stage of his career.

why do so many people have a hard time dealing with that????

and norwood gives some punishment sometimes too.he lowers his shoulder when some tries to bring him down.when someone comes near dunn he's looking to fall down so he can't take a hit.he's trying to protect himself more than get yards.he plays like a girl.
