columbus79
does anybody remember those back to back home games versus green bay and tampa in 2005. those were two winnable games that the falcons needed to have and lost.our run defense was among the worse in the league. chris draft and ed jasper were missing because mora wanted a youth movement and our run defense suffered and coincidentally carnel williams and samkeon gado (formerly of green bay) were the difference and killed the falcons season.it started our decline. these stretch of games started the string of games that falcons the team hasn't been able to scored a td on the opening drive. and that streak is at 31 games and counting.the falcons have lost the ability to run the ball effectively especially in the red zone and at the goal line.dunn was used more and more, but as the season progressed he became less and less of a factor.dunn had fumbled in the green bay game that cost the team points and was non-existent in tampa loss as well. dunn had a nice year statistically in 2005, but these may have been the most important games in the blank era. this team was in a position to break that curse of consecutive (above .500) seasons, but mora/knapp/gibbs got complacent and the rush offense lost its effectiveness and the finesse scheme started to break apart.individually dunn had a great season (individually)in 2005 (when vick was drawing defenders), however once the offense got in the red zone, dunn didn't get it done..cutting grady is similar to what mora did to jasper and draft. it was unnecessary, and made things worse. and with vick not here, the consequences of that move will have a more immediate, negative impact.dunn should be cut. his blocking skills isn't enough to save his job. this would be a significant, noteworthy move. however, it seems falcons managment is content in making grady an example.the ghosts of 2005 have returned. we were going in the right direction, but those two home games versus green bay and tampa has had a deeper impact than people realize. columbus79
i thought jasper retired.and draft was serviceable--and i liked him, but he wasn't a superplayer that he is now being made out to be.jasper was pushed out. they didn't want to pay him. to a certain degree the way grady was treated. and chris draft was an less expensive than brooking, but an effective player (especially with run defense). i believe this was the year brooking had his position change. it was a disaster. columbus79
he can change his name a thousand times but the agenda of vick75 will never die......i don't know what you're talking about! who's vick75? i am just debating the issues. attack the post, not the poster!the falcons were in trouble in 2005 due to their personnel moves and favoritism, and it has cost them..
