we are rebuilding.

everyone seems pretty upset that we suck, but i cant really understand why anyone is surprised. there was no way we were gonna be a contender this year. the biggest factor may have been switching from the zbs, its much more than simply a different system. going from a zbs to a traditional rivals going form the run and shoot to a traditional system. its not gonna be a quick fix here.

i have optomism though for 2 reasons.

1. although we are losing we have been more competitive than i would have thought, take away the giants game and we have been right in till the end in the others.

2. young stars surfacing in norwood, white, and boley and a few others with a some promise.

i would not be surprised to be a serious contender in just a few years.

take away the giants game and every other team we have lost to... sucks.

just wait. there's plenty of football left to be played and i think petrino has already lost the team.

they don't even care if they win or lose anymore...

rebuilding is such an iffy term. some teams rebuilding means massive change. how many building blocks do we already have? how many are we going to be able to keep? you can say goodbye to our shutdown corner in 2 years if this team doesn't look like a contender

we were kinda forced into a rebuild, the first one for us since 1997. id rather be terrible now than continue lingering around .500 a few more years before hitting bottom.

dude 1) we have been in every single game we played. we have lost by all late game breakdowns 2) the breakdowns have been offensive against the better defenses in the nfl period. titans, giants, jacksonville, minnesota. regardless of how you personally feel about them or what they have done in the past, one thing these teams are known for right now are their defenses. in particular their defensive lines which is the kryptonite to our offensive line. 3) we have proven every game that we can move the ball offensively if we can make plays. so leave bp play calling out of it. you cant blame the whole game on one play or one guy. its a team sport and you play 60 minutes. if one guy busts your butt for a touchdown at the end of the game, its not the corners fault wholely. why was the game so close? you dont see ne or indy putting that much burden on one unit. cause they are complete teams. just like you cant blame dbs or lbs for pass coverage\run stopping, real football fans know that dl also play a big part in pass coverage. same as bad passing\running offense isnt always the rbs, wr or qbs fault, the ol plays a big part as well. petrino is a first year coach putting his stamp on the team. in any sport, there are growing pains. in any sport, there are vets and newbies who wont like it. how fast the jell and pick it up is hard to see. but everyone agrees it takes alittle bit of time. look at the elite teams the past 5 years, they were built. it took awhile. if you complain about indy or ne being good, then you didnt watch them form. those teams were built especially indy. a few years ago they were **** near a laughing stock. they couldnt stop a high school offense and outside of peyton and the wrs their wasnt much there. remember when they lost edgerrin and the defense wasnt there yet. indy was not that good. remember the first few years of andy ried in philly. better yet remember when holmgren first got to seattle. i could go on and on.

all you fake fans jump ship like some of you want to do like in other posts. real fans will be here and see it through and it will be so much more sweeter when we win. like i been saying i would hate to be in a bar fight or in war with some of you guys. sometimes you just got to stick in their and take your lumps. no heart at all some of you.

i'm tired of hearing about this rebuidling crap.

we've sucked for most of our 41 years,we've never had back to back winning seasons so i guess we've been rebuilding for 41 years and there is still nothing built! mad.gif

you have a very valid point. i think we have had no continuity. every three years we fire the coach and/or the general manager, bring in a new staff and give them just three years. everyones already hollerin' fire petrino, fire mckay. let's just stick with one scheme, keep building and drafting and be patient for a change.

not really the case, we just change coaches too much. the #7 era can be considered a run although not that successful. with him gone it has kinda laucnched a full rebuild mode.

its overdue but your kiddin yourself if you think this year is no different.
