roddy has set career highs

Recommended Posts

after 7 games, roddy has set career marks in receptions and yards. here are his career stats:

2005: 29 rec, 446 yards, 3 td

2006: 30 rec, 506 yards, 0 td

2007: 33 rec, 530 yards, 2 td

it's no surprise that a new qb, a real position coach, and different offense (although it completely sucks overall) has helped, along with his new work ethic. glad to see him doing well, even though the falcons suck right now.

michael jenkins seems to be improving too. smile.gif

probably because they have people that can actually throw a football to them now.

i wear my signed #84 jersey with pride every week now... even though we're 1-6 i'm a falcons fan til the day i drop...

how did you get him to sign it? i was standing there when he was a rookie in training camp and he wasn't one of the guys signing but he was sitting in the seats next to the building and kept looking over but i guess he decided not to deal with the only person wearing his jersey for the last two year. i don't actually care but..it would have been nice especially since i have been receiving a lot of crap since last year at the dome...not as much as him of course.

it's this type of support that concerns me about falcon fans. roddy is dropping more passes this year than he did last year. his production has increased because he s getting more opportunities. and the main reason he s getting opportunities is because we can t run the ball. it s no surprise that his numbers have increased we are always trying to pass our way back into games in the 3rd and 4th quarters, but his production hasn t really made us an effective passing team and it definitely hasn t open up the running game. so i m sorry if i can t be kudos or high grades to anyone on this team.

we don't have a quarterback playing up to his abilities right now. as it is, i would rather him drop one or two catchable balls with ten passes thrown his way, than one or two out of three. one wide receiver is not going to open up a running game unless he is able to go deep, and we don't have the offensive line to give a quarterback time to set up a deep passing game. he has done a great job so far, he's on pace for over 1,000 yards and he has made a lot of plays, he's just one receiver, though.

he is not dropping more balls. he is having more catchable balls thrown his way. he is getting open and running better routes. he is in a better offense. he has a better coaching staff. he was worked harder. he has better passing qbs. he's getting better. the stats don't lie.

video don't lie either. this is the old roddy:
