if you were offered $1500 for 1 ticket to a falcon ticket would you sell it?

there are really two types of scalping we're talking about, that's why some of the comments here don't seem to make any sense. let's seperate out the two.

average joe selling his tickets. this is an individual who originally purchased one or two tickets with the intention of using them himself. for some reason (can't attend the game, or just needs the money to pay his bills) he sells his tickets.

i really don't have a problem with this, nor do i think most people do.

organized ticket scalpers. these are businesses. they are in it only for the money. they buy up as many tickets as they can, and resell them for as much as they can.

i do have a problem with organzied scalpers:

1. they buy up blocks of tickets, making it more difficult for joe average atlanta fan to purchase either season tickets or game day tickets.

2. they artificially increase the face value of tickets (what the falcons sell them for) becuase they are buying so many in bulk, thus again making it more difficult for joe average atlanta fan to afford tickets.

3. a significant number of their ticket resales (if not the majority) go to rival fans, which is why atlanta has a reputation for having a stadium full of rival fans.

so, if we didn't have organized scalpers: the initial price of purchasing tickets would be lower, local fans would have an easier time getting season and single game tickets, and the dome wouldn't be filled with so many rival fans.

ok just curious since everyone thinks the people selling these tickets are bad people. so put yourself in that position. would you?

wtf kind of point are you trying to make?

is it legal or illegal? is that it? buddy, mike tice sold his sb tickets a few years ago, for a heafty profit (he did get in a little trouble for it from the league) but evidently it is a fairly common practice among players and coaches.

have you not heard of www.stubhub.com or www.ebay.com

if i had the chance to sell my $89.00 ticket for $1,500.00 i would do it in a heartbeat. in fact there isnt a show or game i can think of that i wouldn't make that deal. i am a fan i go to all the games. i would never sell all my tickets, but then again if i could score $3,000 per game for 10 games, then yea i'll do it today.

stupid question, again what point are you trying to make?

this is a dumb question. with $1500.00 how many falcon tickets could you buy this season??

sure, sell the one ticket and get tickets for the whole family, lol!

sell the one ticket and buy an hd tv and nfl pass and watch the whole season.

did you actually think this up by yourself???

even bucs fans can figure this answer out.

well in ga search warrants are not necessary. no knock warrants are. meaning if"your kid or wife calls the police they come over and are let into the house by the caller they have every right to search the enitre house and everything can be used in a court of law

lol!

i hope the police have more things to control this season than resorting to hunting down falcon ticket offenders.

it isn't like anybody would actually give you $1,500.00 for a falcon ticket.

for that much markup, mr blank might even sell you a ticket in his box.

who would blame him if he found somebody wanting to part with $1,500.00 that badly, rotflmao.

wow i had no idea jesus christ was on our boards...goash i have alot of question for you.

just keep acting like you dont break the silliest laws.

actually here in kennesaw its a law that "you must own a fire arm if not a convicted felon"

its one of the most stupid laws i ever heard and luckily im a hunter so i got them.

stupid law??? roflmao i personally think it is the best law on the books in georgia. look how the crime rate reacted... just for the record that particular law was in reaction to so many places almost totally banning firearms. there is another town/city with almost the exact same law. i believe the crime rate reacted pretty much the same there as well. nice to have the government i must have at least one means of defending myself/family/state/country.

and the fellow was simply pointing out that in one state it is illegal.. in the other prefectly legal.

this is the win.

and one point not made very clear: when scalpers buy blocks of tickets, a team only sees that they sold out. therefore, the front office concludes that the price of tickets can be raised. after all they sold all the tickets didn't they? pretty soon, fans become very resentful, since they can't afford tickets. attendance drops, popularity drops, merchandising drops and overnight you have an owner crying about how he's going to move the team since he's losing revenue.

didn't say that -- just that it is illegal to raise the price more than $2.00 of face value and the patriots are actually trying to protect their fans from such low-lifes who jack-up the price 200-300% or more!

a quote from one of your previous post. you jsut jacked it up 200% when you could have sold it for 2 over face value and not be scum

i think this is some kind of ne idiocy. here are the latest tickets available in ma for the godforsaken pats. this is directly from stub hub. also if you go to the pats website and check out their own "ticketexchange" section there are currently 0 tickets available for the next 5 home games. i guess stub hub wins.
