falconfish 0
no, petrino is not a genius we hoped he would be.- can't get the respect of pro athletes.- college way of thinking will not port to nfl.question is, how long will blank keep this bust of a coach!!?!?he's not a bust yet. you have to give him time. the only thing that worries me is that he;s having the same problems spurrier had and thats with the protection of the qb. spreading people wide leaves the qb vulnerable to a myriad of blitzing schemes. michaelgee 36
hytrewqasdfg (10/16/2007)for all you questioning if petrino's offensive scheme will work in the nfl, did you happen to take a look at the giants offensive scheme?oversized, power running backs (260, 230, & 220).big offensive linemen (ot-319, og-310, oc-303, og-317, ot-327).a traditional, straight ahead blocking scheme.multiple receiver sets.a traditional drop back, pocket qb that distributes the ball.do you know what that sounds like? it's the same dang thing they are doing in ny. petrino was oc under coughlin in jax. is anyone surprised they have the same offensive philosophies? next time someone says petrino's "college" scheme won't work in the nfl and he should go back to college, just point at the giants and say "His offense couldn't make first downs.he had not a clue.
