Cox/Getty Images The Atlanta Falcons, like any other NFL team, has squads they fare very well against and teams that seem to beat the crap
  2. Kalyn Kahler writes: Site: Atlanta Falcons’ Flowery Branch Headquarters, located northeast of Atlanta. What I Saw: Morning practice, Sunday, Aug. 2. Blue skies on a sunny morning for the Falcons first practice in full pads. Three things you need to know about the Falcons: 1. Almost nothing is the same in 2015. Atlanta has new head coach in former Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, and a new offensive coordinator in Kyle Shanahan. “Half the team probably wasn’t even here last year,” veteran tight end and free agent signee Jacob Tamme says. “I have no idea what happened last yea
  3. Falcons FS Thomas DeCoud (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 15 against the Redskins.Seventh-round rookie Zeke Motta will get the start in DeCoud's place, next to SS William Moore. According to Pro Football Focus, DeCoud has been nothing short of terrible in coverage this season, checking in as their No. 83 safety out of 87 qualifiers. Motta is purely a run stopper. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4820/thomas-decoud
  4. Atlanta Doesn't Have Enough Space to Keep All of Its Talented Linebackers By Scott Carasik(Featured Columnist) on August 11, 2013 Paul Worrilow looked to earn a roster spot with his performance Thursday night. Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. And right now, the Falcons have the good problem of having too many talented linebackers and not enough spots to keep all of them. Even if they do decide to keep six linebackers on the 53-man roster and one on the practice squad for the 2013 season, they will still end up losing a pair of talented players
  5. Are the Falcons the team to beat in the NFC? By Jeff Fedotin | National Football Post – 3 hours ago The 49ers and Seahawks engaged in an offseason arms race, loading up two already stacked rosters with free agents and draft picks. But could the Falcons be flying be under the radar and poised to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl? “I still believe this team — the Atlanta Falcons — has a lot of talent on this roster,” said free-agent acquisition, running back Steven Jackson. “They have the experience of now having been in the playoffs some years in a row. I believe falling short in the champion
  6. I really, REALLY don't like this move. Clabo's next team April, 4, 2013 Apr 4 9:44 AM ET In order to provide themselves with some additional cap space (possibly to work out a new deal with QB Matt Ryan), the Atlanta Falcons are releasing starting RT Tyson Clabo, according to his agent Chad Speck. So where will he play next? The market for other RTs this offseason hasn't been that brisk. Sebastian Vollmer re-signed with the Patriots, Phil Loadholt is back with the Vikings and Andre Smith is in the process of re-signing with the Bengals. Meanwhile, Eric Winston has yet to find a new team
  7. 98 NFC Championship game when Falcons beat Vikings to go to the Super Bowl!
  8. Official Michael Turner Hey Facebook friends, I want to thank the Atlanta Falcons for the opportunity to be a part of something great. We accomplished a lot during my time here and I will always cherish the memories and relationships I made. I want to thank Mr.Blank for all he's done for me and my career. He's a great owner and an even better philanthropist. This is a tough business but I understand it's nature and respect the process. I'm excited to begin a new chapter of my career and truly believe I have a lot left in the tank. I also want to take a moment and thank the Atlanta Falcons f
  9. I believe this is due to contract money and that's all. I'm sure they're not going to announce to the world that they want Babin. Maybe they really don't want him or maybe it's a ploy to get other teams to believe they're not interested so he can clear waivers. Either way here is the link to an NFLNetwork report. http://bleacherreport.com/tb/d92My?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=atlanta-falcons

  11. Blank: Mike Smith not on hot seat March, 16, 2012 Mar 16 12:30 PM ET By Pat Yasinskas Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank has given a ringing endorsement of coach Mike Smith. There’s been some talk in league circles that Smith could be on the hot seat because he’s failed to win a playoff game despite having a winning record in each of his first four seasons. Blank strongly shot down that talk in a conversation with Pete Prisco. "I think if you tell me Mike Smith is on the hot seat, then find a hot seat on the North Pole," Blank said. "That's as hot a seat as he's on. That perception is about as
  12. The booth review and subsequent overturn of the 3rd down conversion to Mike Cox in OT was atrocious. How they saw irrefutable video evidence that he lost control prior to reaching the 30, I have no clue. Awful. Speaking of terrible calls, the offensive pass interference on Roddy, are you serious? The next play we throw an INT that leads to New Orleans points. Roddy White is hurting the team more than he is helping now a days. You must take a long, hard look at yourself when you’re a net liability. The decision to go for the 4th and inches was the right one. Is there any doubt that the
  13. I see why he'd be angry, but i dont think causing that stir is the way to deal with it. My main problem was when he decided to start ranting to anyone who could listen (wtf?). So he finds b-mac (as hes desperately trying to get out of Franklin's grip) and says "thats not how my guys do it". Isnt he the same guy giving the thumbs up to Logan Thomas on the sideline and making excuses about it afterwards... If I were ever able to focus ANY attention on vanderbilt, Id really hate them after this week.
