New Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith brings a successful brand of offense to town. The Atlanta Falcons finally decided to bring in Arthur Smith to be the head coach for the team. While he isn’t the sexy hire that many were hoping for, he could very well be the man for the job. The Falcons have one of, if not, the best receiving duo in the league in Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley – Jones is one of the best receivers the league has seen. Ridley is coming off a career year himself and seems to be finally coming into his own. New head coach Arthur Smith knows a thing or two about dynamic receiving duos. He had one of the better ones during his time as offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans. AJ Brown and Corey Davisare two of the better young receivers in this game. They were both able to make a big impact on the offense. Brown is coming off a season in which he recorded 70 catches, 1075 yards, and 11 touchdowns in 14 games. Davis had the best season of his young career with 65 catches, 984 yards, and five touchdowns. While those numbers might not pop out to the casual fan, the numbers that these two guys put up are amazing since Derrick Henry rushed for over 2,000 yards last season. That’s the key for the Falcons next season. If Arthur Smith can get at least 60-70 percent of the production on the ground that Henry produced, it will do wonders for Jones and Ridley who have been devoid of any type of running game. There’s no doubt that Jones and Ridley will continue to put up numbers no matter who the head coach is. Arthur Smith puts this duo in the best position to put up even better numbers as long as they have that running game to take the attention off of them. Who knows, maybe Jones might be able to reach double-digit touchdowns next season, a wish that Falcons fans are waiting to come true.
