  1. Falcons release undrafted CB Rashard Causey, sign S Ronald Martin The team made the moves following the loss last night. By Evan Birchfield@EvanBirchfield Aug 2, 2019, 4:06pm EDT The Atlanta Falcons announced Friday they are parting ways with undrafted cornerback Rashard Causey. In a corresponding move, the team announced the addition of safety Ronald Martin. Causey, the former University of Central Florida cornerback, signed with the Falcons after he went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft. In 2018, Causey started five games for the Knights, recording 48 tackles (39 solo) and three forced fumbles. In Thursday’s Hall of Fame game, Rashard Causey played 17% of the defensive snaps and 24% of the special teams snaps. Unfortunately for him, his biggest impact on the game was when he was flagged for defensive pass interference on a fourth down, which allowed the Denver Broncos to remain in, and ultimately win, the game. According to Over the Cap, Rashard Causey’s 2019 salary was $498,333, which is about .26% of the overall cap. With only $10,000 of it being guaranteed, it’s safe to say that the team wasn’t fooling around with players making crucial mistakes late in the game. Martin, who joins fellow former LSU Tigers Deion Jones, Duke Riley, and Russell Gage, signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent after the 2015 NFL Draft. He’s spent time with the Jets and the Colts, racking up one tackle and one assist in 13 game appearances. Martin had 149 tackles and five interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, over his four-year college career. The Falcons also hosted safety Dexter McCoil for a visit on Friday, which likely hints that they’re focused on improving the depth in the defensive backfield. https://www.thefalcoholic.com/2019/8/2/20752135/falcons-release-undrafted-cb-rashard-causey-sign-s-ronald-martin
