I found this article by clicking through a link on a news site and was shocked at some of the images contained in the article. The photo's are off Pittsburgh PA., circa the 1940's. If you think China is bad now, just look through the pictures of one of our own cities. The title of this thread isn't meant to inflame anyone, more just to garner some attention. It amazes me that this was an "all the time" thing up in Pittsburgh at one time. It must have sucked to deal with that and I'll bet that when folks from Pittsburgh went on vacation to a beach or mountain resort the must have been amazed at the giant fireball in the sky. http://www.treehugge...ttsburgh-1940s/
