  1. I think Mayfield has been taking a lot of reps at RT this week so I guess Andrews is the backup LG.
  2. For me, there's no pressure for them to win at all, especially with the cap situation as it is. It gives them the perfect opportunity to evaluate the players they've got and answer some key questions without being on the hot seat. Questions like: has Matt Ryan still got it? Is Kaleb McGary any good? Is Calvin Ridley a true WR1? Can Dante Fowler step up? Is anyone in our secondary actually any good? They can then try and fix those problems next year and properly go for it. Any wins this year are a bonus.
  3. This was always how it had to be for us: using the pass to set up the run rather than the other way round. Love to see it
  4. Interesting that we seem to be pretty close to NO, I wonder if Terry has brought over some tips.
  5. Just a few of thoughts from this draft: 1. Clearly the theme for this draft is versatility. From Pitts to Mayfield to Williams, these players can play multiple positions and hopefully cause mismatches or confusion for the opposition 2. I think it's clear that we were very confident in our evaluations seeing as we "reached" a few times compared to consensus draft boards. We were second only to the Raiders for difference in value compared to the consensus. This is not necessarily a bad thing as those boards are often flawed and there are far more factors at play than just tape/analytics, but it does mean you may be able to pick the same players later on for better value. 3. Speaking of tape/analytics, the other thing I picked up on which I love is drafting for character. Several of the players we picked were team captains and all of them seem like intelligent, hard-working and passionate dudes. The jury is still out of how much you should weigh character over high-end athletic traits but at least we're moving away from TD's track-star draft crushes 4. The last thing I picked up on, especially in the late rounds, was the number of players with developmental potential we selected. Many of the late round picks especially seemed to have flashes and areas of particular skill that, if coached correctly, could allow them to develop into solid players. I wouldn't have bet on that ever happening with the old regime but I have a lot more hope with these new coaches that they will be able to coach these players properly! 5. An excellent and deep UDFA class this year which you love to see 6. BPA baby
  6. Pretty strong first draft from the boys, some potential hidden gems in there amongst the big names
  7. Chargers had a good draft, they've done a great job of turning round that roster
  8. Fun fact: was a TE and punter in high school! The theme of this draft is definitely versatility...
  9. The browns are absolutely killing this draft (at least from the analysts' perspective). Could be a scary team next year
  10. They've brought him in for interview as well so they must be interested. Just depends on who's BPA when were on the clock, bring it on!
  11. Listening to yesterday's press conference I can definitely see us going CB with one of those first 2 picks, Tay Gowan would be my guy there. I'd like us to attack RB and DE early as well. There's a bunch of DT talent in these next few rounds like Bobby Brown and Marvin Wilson (and Khyris Tonga!) that we could look at
  12. DJ had him as one of the last players still available from his top 50. Clear BPA pick with big potential and fills a need at G
  13. Looks like the Kyles are gonna be division rivals
  14. Ojulari is sliding because he has a degenerative leg condition (probably his knee). Could be good value if his medicals check out Moehrig would be a slam dunk if he makes it to our pick (watch them Jags) JOK is a top 20 player but a bit of a tweener. Could defo play safety but obviously a huge unknown there. Barmore, Humphrey and Dickerson not sexy picks but it's always good to build from the trenches. Some great value to be had; shy of a trade down, I'm not sure that first round could have gone any better for us.
  15. Getting worried about NO trading up for Fields
  16. In today's NFL it sure as h*ll is. As long as they can be a top 15 QB, the cap freedom that gives you makes you an immediate win now team.
  17. I swear this guy is just a troll. Some of his takes... 🙄
  18. Maybe they see Pitts as his replacement and see this as a way to get more picks without trading down.
  19. I'm all for BPA but there are certain positions that we could really do with drafting at some point, namely DE and S. I would like to see us draft both of those fairly highly, preferably DE first. There could be some talent at the top of the second in both of those positions but if there's someone the FO has higher on the board then obviously they have to be considered as well. The strength of this draft is clearly on the offensive side of the ball so BPA could see us landing an offensive player with our first three picks which would be an interesting way to try and fix a team ranked 29th in yards allowed (not necessarily wrong though!).
  20. I'd drop the O as well. Hopefully he can bring some confidence and quality to the whole team 💪
