To go from a college kid one minute to a millionaire the next. I can't imagine the feeling.

George Kittle had the 3rd most receiving yards for the 49ers and he only played in 8 games.
Travis Kelce led the Chiefs in receiving yards and had the 2nd most touchdowns.
Darren Waller led the Raiders in receiving yards and touchdowns.
The game can change...and it does. Pitts creates a huge mismatch for opposing defenses more so than any receiver would have IMO.

You are in a back and forth with a guy that is determined to be right, facts be d@mned!
Anybody that watches the modern football game with honest eyes knows having a great TE opens up the passing game big time as it’s the QBs safety blanket.
And if that blanket can take it to the house anytime, it’s even a bigger deal.

An article was just posted on Fox Sports. The Josef situation appears to have been a final straw vs the main reason. Heinze refused to let players have mandated days off, refused water intake during training to the point that medical staff had to intervene, used intermediaries to speak to players rather than speak to them himself, etc. The guy was an ego-maniac.

dirtybirds233 got a reaction from PokerSteve in Cam Jordan thinks Pitts is too small?
    Two things:
    1. It's going to be a rare occasion that a TE is asked to block a DE, unless it's a bump and go or the OL falls apart. It's like asking a LB to cover a WR.
    2. I actually like the Cam Jordan trash talk. He's been doing it for years and it adds fuel to the rivalry. We haven't had that since Roddy.

dirtybirds233 got a reaction from nomak in Training camp preview: Matt Ryan must be stabilizing force in new era
Matt Ryan has been the most consistent and productive player on this team for over a decade now. He's the least of my worries.
I'm more concerned whether or not our offensive line can give him time in the pocket, and how much lipstick Pees can put on our pig of a defense.

Seeing Julio at Titans OTAs was a gut punch. Not because he was in another uniform, but because he made sure to miss all of ours when he was in Atlanta. I'll bet he doesn' t miss a single practice this season.

Gage played very well as the #2 last year and Ridley has already proven to be a legit #1. Add in Pitts who is going to split out wide frequently, and I don't see the need to trade for a WR

The difference is, Quinn was not the mastermind for that Seattle defense. The Seahawks were the #7 and #1 scoring defense the two year prior to Quinn's arrival (2011-2012). The year after he left (2015), they were still the #1 scoring defense. So long story short, Quinn inherited an all-time great defensive roster.
Not the same for Smith. The Titans were the #27 and #19 scoring offense the two years before Smith (2017-2018). Once he took over, they became the #9 and #4 scoring offense in 2019 and 2020.
But to answer your original question, I'm very excited. I see this as a 2-3 year process, but I really do think we can make a push for a wild card spot in 2021.

Even if Fields IS successful, it made no sense for the Falcons to draft him.
