Sounds like ATL wants immediate cap space. Wonder if they're planning on making a strong multi-year deal for Andrews.

I'd be shocked if he signed for only 3m a year. If that was the case, the pats would have just resigned him.

If they are legitimately going after Andrews, it isn't for competition.

Think it's more likely they just want genuine competition instead of handing the spot to an unproven 2nd year guy

Fontenot mentioned his relationship with Swinney in his podcast with Schefter. Might be interesting to see if he talks around about JOK.
I see the team going QB, but JOK is such a key-to-door fit in this defense that it wouldn't surprise me, even if they took him at 4. He played 195 snaps on the line, 433 snaps in the box and 680 in the slot in the last two seasons. I think he's better than Parsons. He's a g-d dam bullet, man. "Only 215" is lazy. He plays like he's 230... Excels in coverage, strong in run fits even at his weight and as previously mentioned, brings crazy versatility with him. Pees also has a deep rooted connection to that ND program.
I'll reiterate before I get banished, I think the team goes QB. Just wouldnt be surprised if it was JOK due to the incredible fit.

Fontenot mentioned his sons being in the interview. The second part was my take. One of my close friends works as a recruiting analyst with Arthur's son, Max at Tennessee.

He'd be the Cam Batson-type receiver for Smith. Also has familiarity with Dave Ragone, current OC. I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Im not saying its likely, but its not impossible to make it work.
To preface, I have absolutely no idea what we would give them, but financially, here's how it could work:
Assuming the Falcons somehow did acquire Watson, id imagine the team would give him a lucrative signing bonus to lower his cap hit in 2021 to ~$5m. If the NFL does increase the salary cap to ~$190m, this becomes a lot easier. Believe the team is expected to be ~over 56 million in cap next season, so you really just need to give Watson an initial signing/PRB and restructure some other guys to make it work mainly for 2021.
I saw someone say Watson wasn't elite on TATF. That may be the worst take ever. Watson is a top 6 NFL QB who's from Georgia. The Saints, (Fontenot) liked Watson pre draft and post draft.

Obviously just speculation, but its not fair to say its impossible, especially not with a GM who worked in New Orleans (-$97.5m).
To summarize, you give/restructure Watson a massive signing bonus and transition his salary to a bonus. Frontload his bonuses, backload his salary (guarantee his salary in the back end of his contract but give him bonuses early. Effectively lowers the 2021 CAP hit)
Ill take a shot at a deal for Watson:
    ATL receives:
    QB Deshaun Watson

    HOU receives:
    QB Matt Ryan
    2021 1.04
    2021 2.35
    2021. 4.99
    2022 1st
    2022 3rd
    2023 2nd
It'll be absurdly expensive, but I dont think Its impossible both financially and logically.
