  1. We will win in a blowout! I have not been this confident since the Browns game last year, and the Colts game this year. I think I will be putting money on this game. Falcons 27, Titans 24 (anything over a point is a blowout at this point......)
  2. I like what you are saying, and Quinn is a good coach with a good system. I am just a little frustrated by what I have seen the last 2 seasons. I just want a coach who I can say: "We beat them because we out coached them." "They are more talented, but we have smarter coaches." I have not been able to say that before or after Shannahan, during Quinn's tenure (which says it was Shannahan). Right now, we are getting by with just having better athletes.
  3. Just get to a record of 4 and 4. That was all I was hoping for with new OC. We should roll after that. you can see the O is starting to get in sync in the second half. Those penalties though......we need to clean that up.
  4. Wow, this is devastating. Wishing you well from all of us.
  5. Well let's hope he likes to eat horses. The Colts are on the menu today. I am looking forward to some domination. No more close games. Go Falcons!!!
  6. Thanks for sharing Draftnut. I remember digging through trash for food when I was young....parents dying early...on my own for a while... I would not trade my childhood also. Still like Hageman more. Still like Hageman more than the bear killer.
  7. I am disappointed to read about him killing that bear......poor bear. He will have a hard time beating out Hageman as my favorite lineman. Too bad Hageman is not as talented. Boooo the bear killer.
  8. If it were not for the Falcons, I would not even watch football. But, Deion is the only player I ever followed after he left the Falcons. The man was such a great play maker. Hated to see him come back to Atlanta, kick the Falcon's ***, and proclaim it his house.....but man....such a great play maker. You have to admit, he was entertaining. Were you not entertained when him and Rison started fighting....that was fun to watch.
  9. Schwarz, I like your positive thought process, but I will take that bet. I just do not see how Matt avoids throwing under 6 interceptions over the rest of the season. He is clearly in the middle of the learning curve for this offense. If I win, you give me a good falcon picture for my avatar. If I lose, you can make my avatar a donkey or whatever you choose.
  10. Billy "White Shoes" Johnson was my first favorite. Deon Sanders was my all time favorite.
  11. I have not been this confident in a win for the Falcons since going into the game against the Browns last year.
  12. I like Shanahan a lot, and would not be against this, BUT...... We finally have a potentially dominant D. Growing pains in the first year on O, just as we had with Shanahan. Lets give our team a chance to improve on O. Too early to be thinking about replacing Quinn/Koetter.
  13. I am now sad..... Do not know why, but he is one of the players I keep rooting for. Maybe it is because of the shoe string sac of Rodgers in the playoffs. Maybe it is because of the blocked field goals, something no one else does for us. Good luck Hageman!!!
  14. What a physical game! Love the intensity of the defense. The defense is starting to feel like the defense we have always hoped for. Offense is a work in progress, but I know that it will come together as the year goes on. Special Teams is hurting us. How is it possible to get a flag on almost every kick return? Is it a coaching issue? I am anxious to see who we get as our new punter. Just can not see any punter coming back in a week, after a groin injury (those hurt so bad!!). Money Matt does not have the leg for kickoffs.....
  15. My goodness!!!! This is some good quality football talk. Thank you so much. In my opinion...it comes down to the performance of our OL vs the performance of an erratic Kirk Cousins. My money (I have "invested" $15 on this) is on our OL gelling enough, even this early on in the season, to win. Just not a fan of Kirk, he has never lived up to the hype when he plays us.
  16. Based on play.....McGary starting at RT, Gono as back up. If McGary gets tired, we can sub him out and let him build up his stamina as the season progresses. Is Sambrailo even healthy enough to be in the conversation anyway? His play would suggest not.
  17. This is the saddest news I have read about the Falcons this whole offseason. I was cheering so hard for the Hage. Hope this is fake news.
  18. I had my doubts, until seeing the first unit D line at work last night. If that first unit D line plays like that the whole year.....watch out!!! Feeling more confident heading into the season now, and fully expect to wreak havoc at the Vikings.
  19. I liked what I saw from the 1st team O and D lines. First time this preseason that I was encouraged by what I saw. Sure we can clean some stuff up, but the D and O lines were balling. Matt clearly has more time in the pocket than we usually give him, and Takk sure looked good running with that football after the interception. Can not wait for the season to start.
  20. Vikings fans must be suffering just as much as we are. Our history are so similar. Both have had really good teams with the talent to win it all, but just never in our history been able to get to the top. Our season does not depend on this game, so I am just hoping for a good injury free game. We will not see our full potential at this game. I fully expect us to get hot by mid way thru the season and roll into the playoffs.
  21. I am good with 8 or more weeks for recovery. We have enough talent to win enough games during the season. Just get well in time to win the starting position, and ROCK in the playoffs. This season can not start soon enough. Excited to see our new talents and coaches.
  22. Takk overweight at 273 pounds with a bad shoulder, yet still looked powerfully explosive last year. Can not wait for this season to start and see what he can do.
  23. Schaub was done 2 years ago. Let him finish the preseason....thank him for his services.....cut him. Give his roster spot to a worthy RB, LB, DT, or safety (my vote would be to keep Hageman). We only need to carry 2 QB for the season.
