This is the biggest bunch of cow manure I’ve read on here in quite a long time and that’s really saying something. Congratulations.

Most of you still don't get it. You're not connecting the dots. While none of us know for sure, in my humble opinion, the reason Julio wanted to be traded is b/c he didn't believe they could win it all with MR2 as the QB. While I don't entirely agree with Julio, he does have a VERY VALID point. The likelihood of winning it all with MR2 as your starting QB is diminished b/c of his noodle arm. That said, other noodle armed QB's have won it all (e.g. Brees & Montana) but they did it with exceptional Offensive Coordinators who could scheme their receivers open on shorter routes plus a strong running game & defense. As you all know, we have neither a strong running game nor a dominant defense sooo... hence, Julio's dissatisfaction with the direction of the team. Additionally, his talents are being wasted as a deep threat b/c MR2 can't get him the ball deep down the field. I've said this on this very Board several times but no one was really trying to hear any criticism of the Sacred Cow MR2. Believe me, it's nothing personal against MR2 but it just is what it is. One last thing, then I'll leave it alone, what many don't get is his lack of arm strength allow smart defenses to shrink the field on him. In other words, they don't worry about defending the deep pass even with Julio on the field cause they know the only way MR2 can get it to him is by hanging a lollypop throw which will allow them time to get back in the play... so, what they do is crowd the box, which serves 2 purposes, they can better defend both the run & his short/intermediate throws (which are his specialty). So basically the blueprint is out for how to stop MR2 & Julio.
Can the Falcons win with MR2? Yes, tho the margin for error is small. Since MR2's deep ball is trash, they will be forced to scheme open receivers to give the defense something to think about other than stopping the run. They will need to do that by developing a horizontal passing game to use the entire width fo the field & try to get separation that way or use their new TE over the middle to out muscle the defense for jump balls (preferably without getting their receivers killed). If they are successful with the horizontal pass game then this will give them a shot at having a run game. This also will give them a shot at developing a short deep pass game. What do I mean by a short deep pass game? If you can suck the DB's up closer to the line of scrimmage in order to stop the run game, then you have a chance to drop a "deep" ball over their heads (that really isn't that deep down the field in terms of actual yardage). Another way to think of it is this will allow MR2 to release the ball early, hang the ball high & let his receivers run under it. In this way, we are able to compensate for his lack of arm strength & still have a deep ball threat. The only down side to this is then some of you who don't know what you're looking at will come on here and say see MR2 does have a cannon arm cause look he just completed a bomb to #18 for six... this is when those of us who know what really happen will collectively bit our tongue & roll our eyes.
In closing, while I am seriously sad to see Julio go, I do understand why he was disgruntled and wish him well.
To those doubting this assertion, I offer exhibit A for your consideration...

That's accurate. He does lack the arm strength of some of those guys. I mean there is absolutely no doubt that Rodgers, Mahomes, and some others can flat out throw a ball farther downfield and on a tighter rope than Ryan.
The main fallacy is made when people claim that is such a detriment to his game that he must be replaced with someone similar to those guys in order for the Falcons to win a championship, or whatever it is they try and claim.
He can make every throw necessary to lead a prolific aerial offense that includes deep throws, as long as they are not Dirk Koetter off-rhythm-take an eon to develop-route trees.

It's really not a cliche we hear every year. At least not for the same positions. Who was the last prospect like Pitts in recent memory? Who was the last TE prospect to straight up draw comparisons to Calvin Johnson? In your head you're limiting him to the TE position, but reality is that it's just a label because he's the size of a DE catching footballs like a WR.
You're stance kinda falls into the category of loving a position, not a player. 3 QBs went before the 4th pick and by all accounts picking one at 4th would be picking a QB just for the sake of picking a QB. Lawrence aside, this QB class wasn't any more special than next year's will be.
Next year we'll hear about another good QB class. Quote me when I say you won't hear about another Pitts for another decade or so.

I understand the want for a QB, but this guy is a freak among freaks. Considering the Falcons were very much NOT in the driver's seat for a QB they wanted, there wasn't a better pick imo.

it is so simple, dipsh*t. you draft the best player available when you pick. which we did.

I wasn't against a QB a few months ago, but I'll be fairly uneasy if that's the case now. A QB at 4 gives me the impression that the new front office likes the position, not the player.

The thing is, he isn't as old as y'all want him to be. He is 35 going on 36. Y'all act like he's brees age when in reality he is 7 years younger than him. He's almost 5 years younger than rivers, two years younger than rodgers, 5 years younger than roethlisberger, ect.

Who I'd pick and who we should pick aren't necessarily one and the same. The reality is that most of the posters on this board are complete idiots when it comes to QB evaluation, myself included. That's why I say I could be satisfied with a QB if they take him because they're convinced he's the best choice, not because they feel that they need to draft a QB.
With that said, fully ignoring needs, I'd probably take Chase. He seriously might be the best player in this draft.

The NFL took that win off the books after Matt Ryan told the whole special teams unit to watch a spinning football instead of recovering the onside kick, single-handedly costing the Falcons a game in which someone, but probably not Matt Ryan, threw 24 of 36 for 273 yards, 4 TDs and 0 interceptions.
