It is easy to play Monday morning QB, but I think his last two hires were solid hires. Mike Smith took us from being the laughing stock of the league to one play from the Super Bowl. Unfortunately, health issues probably ended his time in Atlanta.
Dan Quinn took us to the Super Bowl and brought in an All-Star coaching staff. He brought in a staff that included multiple head coaches. Blank made the right choice in hiring him. Quinn's biggest mistake minus the Super Bowl was probably letting Lafleur get away. I will never understand that move. You wanted to keep running Shanny's offense so you brought someone in from the outside? I drank the coolaid regarding that move, but in hindsight it made no sense.
I don't agree with the whole blow it up statement. We have talented players all over this team and with the right coach we will be a contender.

Aaron bailed out again. That was a very late flag to give a 1st down.

I actually thought Oliver played decent. The two big receptions were unlucky. The first was good coverage and didn’t appear to be a catch. The second was more on Rico than him and he forced a fumble which didn’t get called for some reason. I like Oliver’s physicality and willingness in the running game.

I ain’t even mad and that is the issue.

Heck, Belichick failed miserably at his first coaching job. It is not easy and sometimes it is easier to reset. Quinn may go on to be a great head coach. We just need a change and he does as well.

Sheffield was always in the right place in the preseason, too. Just didn't turn his head to play the ball.
Oliver has been out of position so many times but those are mental errors. He was in hip pockets vs the Cardinals, but gotta finish with his length on a couple of those bombs he gave up. (One was the questionable sideline catch and the other was the fumble that was not overturned into a fumble)
Sheffield went mostly vs Fitz. Give him meaningful snaps outside like Quinn is saying.
    I like it.

Didn't he earn his way onto a coaching staff first, fail as a HC, then go back to college for almost a decade before becoming a big success? Took him his 2nd gig to get to the postseason in NE and 3rd gig to become a SB winner.
20 years between first HC gig and a SB appearance/win.
The rest are older stories, right?
  15. Vandy liked a post in a topic by Jpg428gggg in So those 3 wins at the end of last year? Great momentum huh?
Exactly.  I bet the people who wanted us to tank are also complaining about the team giving up as well. I want a team full of players that are going to fight to win no matter the circumstances or score. This might be the biggest issue with this team. We don't have enough of those guys on the team. I know Ryan, Jarrett, Julio, and Sanu are those type of players. Who else is in that boat?

I am the same way. Love my falcons but they don’t impact my happiness. Having two kids has really put things in perspective.

My enthusiasm is renewed after waking up after an "L". I don't let that team define my happiness more than a few hours a week.

There is nothing more exciting than winning. As bland as Smitty was, he overachieved with bunch of less talented players and won ton of games.

Matt Ryan is for real the unluckiest QB in NFL history. Why can’t he have just one of Brady’s lucky plays?
    Tuck rule
    Vinateri bail out
    Shanked FG’s
    Good OL’s
    Consistent, quality HC and OC
    Good defenses
Dee Ford jumps offsides negating the game-ending INT
Team makes a bone headed decision at the 1 in the Super Bowl
Team completely implodes in the Super Bowl
Play in a really bad division
In the same moment, in big moments, Ryan’s teammates negate the big play with a dumb penalty, the ball hits off the WR’s hands and miraculously bounces right into the hands of the defender, the coaches just suck, or a kicker misses something. Can this guy just get one lucky break or something?

No it wouldn’t. Purposefully losing breeds A losing culture. See Cleveland browns for last 20 years.
