  1. Most successful offense in NFL for getting HC fired
  2. After losing to SC and 1-7 Georgia can sweep Louisiana 3-0 , and win NC in NOLA.
  3. Best offense for the present personnel is Air Coryell . 2 fast WRs to attack seams vertically TE, RB, WR. Intermediate routes Strong inside RB Mix in west coast principles slants, curls
  4. Only took 2 hours of talking to yourself , but you found a friend
  5. DQ should seek input from the former HCs on his staff, and implement them. Mularkey has experience reducing team penalties. Mularkey and Koetter have both had struggling defenses as HCs. DQ has resources to help him, not taking advantage should cost him his job
  6. Depends on the OL and RBs really. A clean pocket, OL wearing down DL /LBs in run game, RBs forcing DBs to come up and tackle allowing WRs and TEs to feast on a worn out defense. MR with legitimate play action ,big and fast receivers, against tiring defenses forced to wait and react. The last 1/3 of his career has a chance of being much better than the first 2/3. His accuracy continues to improve. His TD/int. Ratio is reaching brady/Rodgers level while still taking shots downfield without having to throw the ball away if the WR isn't wide open. If the OL and RBs can allow him to become more of a game manager, its possible he becomes a better version of brady/brees with the ability to still go deep Ridley will likely be a top tier WR in next 3 years. Hooper a top tier TE. JJ should age well as MRs go to WR. If Gage/draft pick becomes a reliable deep threat MR could have his best group of receivers for the last part of his career.
  7. TD knows he is partially responsible for the coordinators getting fired. This offseason he knows he has to fix his mistakes. The outside tosses, jet sweeps ,etc. On 3 and 4th down. TD fault: building an OL incapable of blocking long enough to pick up negative yards without Ryan having ball knocked out his hands. Sark fault- relying on WRs and TEs to provide blocking in run game. Unable to be creative (maybe use a DL at fullback ,have TE cut inside to help C seal DT, Fullback crash down on DE, have Shraeder pancake chasing LB / Safety. TD fault- building defense strictly to fit 1 scheme. MM fault- having defense wait and react to keep any runner that can run faster than a 7.00 and ability to stop breaking 6 tackles by defenders running past the play. MM- maybe have VB in middle spying RB allowing him a key to become 4th pass rusher. Have DBs for runners inside to VB and Campbell. Some fault to the players for not being very good. Now you have run blockers, run stoppers, pass blockers ,pass rushers Coach with history of building smashmouth OL (jville MJD, Atlanta, only good thing about tenn. Defensive coach with a little success using different talents to field a respectable DL in Seattle. Anyone who really knows what will happen (besides the team having quality options on any play) like believing their own lies. Will the team win the SB? IDK as long as the offense haters ,defensive haters, and TD blamers are wrong. Maybe this can really become a place to TATF for actual discussion and not CNN/FOX football channel
  8. I started my account 3 years ago. I come on here when I feel others opinions are useful to draw a conclusion Not my fault there are only 2-3 times per year that it isn't the same argumentsover the same subjects by the same people. I dare you to try to find a spot to post your opinion without the ability to start your own thread on a board with 30 threads per day about the same arguments from the 30 the day before and the 30 before that
  9. I wasn't trying to quote you. I can't start my own thread, so I just picked 1 that was closest . Sorry I didn't read the OP, figured it was the same as the other 12
  10. Trashing players before they take a snap with the team isn't going to change anything. Lindstrom, mcgarry, and other players drafted won't be extra motivated by reading your opinion. Family and friends won't push them to work harder to please a fan base of doubters. Veterans may not read your posts but young kids, their friends, and family likely will Either you have absolutely no faith in blank, the FO, or the coaches to learn from previous mistakes . Or you can trust them, and believe in what they are doing. These decisions are a product of self evaluating and planning to fixing. They overestimated their players and coaches to overcome injuries. They overestimated the ability to scheme around weakness. They brought in 2 OCs with experience with college and professional experience developing OLine. They brought in REAL competition for 3 OL and 2 DT positions. They avoided drafting the higher graded players for players with less worry of failing. Taylor and Ford have executives that truly expect them to bust. Lindstrom and mcgarry don't have those. Matthews and Ryan were graded the same way. Sound fundamentally, but wont be first ballot HOFer. But they also weren't wasted 1st round picks. Drafting OL players because of how they were graded, and ignoring red flags have cost this team badly (LH,PK) Trust the team's evaluation process
  11. this team isnt a championship team with DQ as coach. AB needs to look at this team as Glazers did with dungy/gruden bucs fired dungy despite playoff success because he couldnt win against teams with equal talent DQ and Smith are great at building teams , just not game planning if AB had fired smith in 2013 and Quinn in 2017 they would have a SB trophy by now. Falcons had a better HC in shanahan that knows how to beat teams BB,Payton, shanahan, they have experience as assistants scheming to beat opponents in big games and not expecting to win on talent alone bill walsh had holgrem , gruden BB beat the bills in the SB as DC Payton as OC got the Giants to the SB with Kerry Collins Shanahan likely wins the SB if AB realized Shanahan and not DQ led the team to the SB. Shanahan wouldnt have used the SB as an audition and protected his offensive line and QB better DQ can follow a blue print on building a defense, but has never schemed and shut down a powerful offense like the seahawks did to manning Now DQ is relying on Sark to mask the deficiencies of the HC and DC to scheme for opposing offenses
  12. The Bucs also gave up their 1st rd. picks for the next 2 seasons. Hard to replace aging players on an aging roster starting at pick 64 and last pick in each round. Then the next season you start end of the 2nd. Also have to factor in you're in a new division , with a team built to compete against the nfc north. Falcons, Panthers, and Saints were scoring points on teams. Bucs defense was steadily declining and their limited resources were used trying to find a starting caliber QB.
  13. He wasn't going to resign to backup Brady. They most likely tried getting more before the deadline, but were left with losing him for nothing or the 2nd. Players go for much less than their value after the season starts all the time.
  14. The movement of officials is fishy. The league doesn't have to direct officials to rig games, but can assign refs to influence outcome by how they call home/visitors
  15. Every player on the team with recent $$$$$ contracts all seem to be finished with dead money. Can this team really be heading to full rebuild after 1 successful season again?
  16. Heard Goodell ordered the refs to embarrass blank for telling jerry about his jet demands that is supposedly the reason blank refused to go to the dome. 1st and 40 was for leaking his 40 mil. / season demands after the league had given up non profit status to prevent his salary from being reported. Goodell helped both jones and blank secure badly needed loans for their stadiums, after already borrowing the max allowable already. Then they leaked his contract demands. Also the league had rigged games last season to help both teams win their divisions to generate cash flow, so Goodell wanted both teams to miss the playoffs. Falcons were supposed to lose their last 3 games to kill ticket sales for next season. There was also rumors early in the season about giants games being rigged after Mara had bumped up against Goodells LA and Vegas relocations causing the league to release a statement denying bias in the NFL. The leaks also forced the league and casinos to put a planned deal on hold that would've provided owners with new revenue sources to offset losses in next TV contracts due to viewer loss. Teams were also upset about the league pushing to get as many small market teams in the postseason to guarantee the super bowl being won by either Pittsburgh or New England. Trump hasn't tweeted that any of this is fake news, so this is probably a bunch of made up stuff to get this topic to 10 pages
  17. Midseason game, non division, sellers market, business decision vs. fandom You sell your tickets for 1 game and recoup a large chunk of season ticket. Only chance for a cowpoke fan within 300 miles of the Benz to see their team play. When you only get to see 1 game the price is less of a worry. Growing up in Houston during the lastros era, every game against the braves was a home game for them.
  18. 2 things scare me about sarkisian. He is supposedly an offensive innovator, that had problems at Alabama not wanting to coach an offense that wasn't his. The other is the alcohol. He has been accused of being drunk all the time since his days in Washington. Does he start again now that he is back in the NFL like Washington's GM? He supposedly like to drink before big games Which is pretty much every week in the NFL. And being divorced in 2015, can he stay away from the abundant night life ? Will the excitement of running a high powered offense cause him to want to celebrate, or frustration with MR or DQ over control of offense make him drink? Hopefully the team has thought about other options if he becomes a problem. Not the best place to turn off the Falcons Filter. If anything derails the season, he is the only ? on the team. DQ can't take over on offense like he did with the defense. Atlanta history can't beat the players on the team, so if it returns this would a likely culprit.
  19. Falcons drafted a QB that was a day 1 starter that would win a bunch of games, and also wouldn't lose games because of bad decisions / taking unnecessary risk. Turned out better than I thought he would. While the elite QBS were throwing 50 times a game while they were learning their craft, Ryan has always relied on teammates to lean on while learning the game. He's the Joe Montana to the elite Dan Marinos. Which QB is better? 22/30 250 yds. 2 tds 0 int. / or 36/50 400 yds. 3 tds. 3ints. Manning/ favre/brees have put their team in bad situations , and cost their team more wins than Rodgers and Ryan. Brady took 8 years to master his trade, Ryan took 9 years, Elway took 11 years, Favre never learned. Brees is still years away. Saints took the ball out of Brees hands last season against Seattle. He threw 2 early picks against a team that's QB could barely walk, and OL that thought they were on a bye. Saints ran the ball 60 times as their comeback offense. Elway, Manning, Brady, won more titles as game managers than as gunslingers. A QB that spends his career learning to be a field general and not forcing his team to constantly chase their mistakes, learn from their mistakes faster than QBS that feel they can always overcome their mistakes and keep the same dumb mistakes over and over. (FAVRE, MARINO, BREES,KELLY,)
  20. Kids growing up along I-10 from California to Florida are easily accessible to find enough friends to play football year round. California, Louisiana, Texas, and Florida players dominate the NFL at skill positions. Best linemen usually come from North Central /East where they grow up banging into each other playing hockey. bible belt kids are spaced out , so kids grow up shooting basketballs year round.
  21. Falcons gave up 4.5 yards per carry last season. Panthers and Saints are loading up on RBS to try to wear the defense down and neutralize the rush. Defense is built to attack teams trying to keep up with the offense. Defense success is dependent on offense success.
