  1. We need Ishmael and Shelby to step up. Poe, Crawford and Garrett handled all but 1 snap. If they get gassed I see them moving Shelby inside for a few plays. Takk will take Vic's place, but I think he'll get spelled by Campbell, and Ish will cover their tight end. We have to tackle-plain and simple. On offense I'd like so see the FB snaps get cut in half and use more two TE sets. Their defensive backfield is very good. I'd like to see Toilolo next to the new guy at tackle more. Manu, Julio, Toi, Free, Hoop, Ryan--that's a heckuva lot to keep up with. And we get help on the line and for o
  2. I think we'll get our real pressure from the middle against the Lions. Their center is injured and the number of screens they throw calls for serious position discipline.
  3. When he first kneeled I blasted him. I was wrong. I confused the flag with us. We don't fight for a flag. We fight for US. After seeing these young men cursed, after watching people's dark side being played to, I can acknowledge that criticizing Kaepernick was one of the stupidest and unfair things I've ever done. I'm glad to see that the people on this board-mAny of whom are much younger than me-have a unity and inclusiveness of spirit that I failed to show. It makes me terribly proud to read these posts.
  4. Hageman is gone. They left their options open but by the time he returns, there won't be room unless there are injuries. Great insurance move though.
  5. Congratulations. It's a wonderful photograph in so many ways. I think I speak for many people here in also appreciating your entire attitude about receiving such an honor. GO FALCONS!!!
  6. Got us some Ying and Yang on the edges. GO FALCONS!!
  7. He won't get many snaps. Add Poe, Crawford, Shelby, Claiborne, Jarrett, Beasley, Takk, Reid (might get released) and the other guy. You have to adire DQ. Last year it's a weakness and this year it's a strength. 20 snaps a game.
  8. with this years draft. DQ was swamped with the playoffs and by the time the SB was over college football had ended. This year we consistently took guys who were assumed to be going lower. I'be heard him twice say "Thomas and other guys talked to him (met him)." We have a problem at guard, the TE won't get on the field. I'm still one of those who thinks TD is a bad talent evaluator and is riding DQs coat tails. We'll see, but we ignored OL and have no depth there at all. And we'll miss Tamme.

  10. He's very versatile and he's technically very good. He can play tackle in a pinch, he's just not an NFL starting left tackle. The OL is about team movement and football IQ. Anyone who plays RG plays with Mack in his helmet. That can't be said enough. There is NO way DQ doesn't ask Mack as time goes on what he thinks. I think he was very much a pick for our division which requires him to be quicker than avg and tough after getting beat. Rookie OL are tough to evaluate because they are so physically immature.
  11. Saubert is depth. I think his frame mattered and I think they believe he is interesting backing up Hoop and Sanu. Depending on number of OL we dress, I don't see him being active very often.
  12. Right. Because we don't want passionate but still not mature young men. We want obedient and good boys..... ......I'd take ODB in 2 seconds.
  13. Trufant isn't a typo. You'll see him play in a FS position in some dime and in certain man formations. I'm sorry you think football is something like foosball. Trufant has already lined up repeatedly behind the 2 corner in prevent. In spite of his remarkably low interception numbers, he is absolutely respected as an incredibly proficient technical DB. Go back and read DQs quotes about Trufant's versatility at slot, CB and S. Its not that I'm offended by the fact some of you like ****ting on the floor....it's that you are beyond stupid and immaterial when it comes to football. It's like b
  14. We played the entire regular season without an OL missing a start. That has happened just 3 times in 26 seasons. Harmon plays EVERY OL position. Very good pick. I spend a lot of time in Montana and Wyoming. I've seen Brian Hill play 4 times in two years. I predict he will become a true fan favorite and will set off the dont give Freeman massive money. He's ugly, and tough, and NEVER stops. If you don't like him-you don't like football. I dont care care for the TE pick and think he goes to PT. But I also predict he see's the field if Sanu gets banged up and takes some snaps i
  15. That's consistent with what he said.
  16. The part about the dwindling use of the LEO is correct and it's why I harp on waiting to see what work Campbell did on his body and then give him a look at DE in base. Makes huge sense.
  17. I doubt he's there. He's a one man backup crew and he's incredible valuable. Our O-line has been un-injured just 3 out of the last 20 seasons. We HAVE to beef up. We get two guys injured and then what? If we don't get Lamp, I think we will trade down and then up a 2nd pick into the 2nd of 3rd. We need Oline and LB depth badly.
  18. Cmon man. Read what people say and stop calling names. Campbell and Neal are average in coverage and Campbell is actually a bit below that. Neal is average the way that a future great can be average in a part of his early career. And his coverage is completely fixable. What Neal is NOT average at is playmaking. He is dynamic and exciting as **** and that cannot be taught. You realize Deon was average against the run as a young player, right? Campbell needs to be pushed and if we take a LB in 1 or 2 he will be. And there is NO doubt that as our rooks improve Rico will grow with that as wel
  19. No doubt. The best alternative is Trufant though. Incredible versatile and he'll be moved a lot this year depending on personnel.
  20. Hey. They both do. Debo can't call the guys he can't see behind him. And Allen can see a lot Debo can't.
  21. It's the players themselves. It's not new. When I played a few thousand years ago we had a Monster back, a Rover. Played a hybrid and I was responsible for either taking out the lead on sweeps or clogging the hole with the fullback. When we bring Keanu into the box he's pretty much a LB. Lamp isn't average at all. He's gone by 20. If he's there at 31 we look like a blur getting up there to pick him. And Rico. He's the guy that lets us pay Alford AND Trufant. Campbell and Neal were very average in coverage. I think DQ gives him ALL the credit for increased communication and really se
  22. Guard-after Lamp or MAYBE Robinson, we wait. There's a real reason. What we need isnt in high demand on other teams. Our guy can need weight and strength if his speed and FB IQ are high. Especially if he has a serious motor which we forget is as important in OL as in DL. We're putting him on Ryan's right foot, between Mack and Schroeder, one over from a TE with blocking support from the RB. Unless Lamp is there we wait until the 4th like KoG and several others have said. Rico Allen-don't count on a high replacement unless he can be brought down to LB. Allen calls the plays PLUS he was beh
