  1. We need Ishmael and Shelby to step up. Poe, Crawford and Garrett handled all but 1 snap. If they get gassed I see them moving Shelby inside for a few plays. Takk will take Vic's place, but I think he'll get spelled by Campbell, and Ish will cover their tight end. We have to tackle-plain and simple. On offense I'd like so see the FB snaps get cut in half and use more two TE sets. Their defensive backfield is very good. I'd like to see Toilolo next to the new guy at tackle more. Manu, Julio, Toi, Free, Hoop, Ryan--that's a heckuva lot to keep up with. And we get help on the line and for outside stuff between Toi and Sanu. We need to throw screens and attack there middle with Julio slants. Their MLB, SS are out. I'm interested to watch the Killebrew sleeper kid play Julio and Manu.
  2. I think we'll get our real pressure from the middle against the Lions. Their center is injured and the number of screens they throw calls for serious position discipline.
  3. When he first kneeled I blasted him. I was wrong. I confused the flag with us. We don't fight for a flag. We fight for US. After seeing these young men cursed, after watching people's dark side being played to, I can acknowledge that criticizing Kaepernick was one of the stupidest and unfair things I've ever done. I'm glad to see that the people on this board-mAny of whom are much younger than me-have a unity and inclusiveness of spirit that I failed to show. It makes me terribly proud to read these posts.
  4. Hageman is gone. They left their options open but by the time he returns, there won't be room unless there are injuries. Great insurance move though.
  5. Congratulations. It's a wonderful photograph in so many ways. I think I speak for many people here in also appreciating your entire attitude about receiving such an honor. GO FALCONS!!!
  6. Got us some Ying and Yang on the edges. GO FALCONS!!
  7. He won't get many snaps. Add Poe, Crawford, Shelby, Claiborne, Jarrett, Beasley, Takk, Reid (might get released) and the other guy. You have to adire DQ. Last year it's a weakness and this year it's a strength. 20 snaps a game.
  8. with this years draft. DQ was swamped with the playoffs and by the time the SB was over college football had ended. This year we consistently took guys who were assumed to be going lower. I'be heard him twice say "Thomas and other guys talked to him (met him)." We have a problem at guard, the TE won't get on the field. I'm still one of those who thinks TD is a bad talent evaluator and is riding DQs coat tails. We'll see, but we ignored OL and have no depth there at all. And we'll miss Tamme.

  10. He's very versatile and he's technically very good. He can play tackle in a pinch, he's just not an NFL starting left tackle. The OL is about team movement and football IQ. Anyone who plays RG plays with Mack in his helmet. That can't be said enough. There is NO way DQ doesn't ask Mack as time goes on what he thinks. I think he was very much a pick for our division which requires him to be quicker than avg and tough after getting beat. Rookie OL are tough to evaluate because they are so physically immature.
  11. Saubert is depth. I think his frame mattered and I think they believe he is interesting backing up Hoop and Sanu. Depending on number of OL we dress, I don't see him being active very often.
  12. Right. Because we don't want passionate but still not mature young men. We want obedient and good boys..... ......I'd take ODB in 2 seconds.
  13. Trufant isn't a typo. You'll see him play in a FS position in some dime and in certain man formations. I'm sorry you think football is something like foosball. Trufant has already lined up repeatedly behind the 2 corner in prevent. In spite of his remarkably low interception numbers, he is absolutely respected as an incredibly proficient technical DB. Go back and read DQs quotes about Trufant's versatility at slot, CB and S. Its not that I'm offended by the fact some of you like ****ting on the floor....it's that you are beyond stupid and immaterial when it comes to football. It's like being stuck in a class with all D and F students.
  14. We played the entire regular season without an OL missing a start. That has happened just 3 times in 26 seasons. Harmon plays EVERY OL position. Very good pick. I spend a lot of time in Montana and Wyoming. I've seen Brian Hill play 4 times in two years. I predict he will become a true fan favorite and will set off the dont give Freeman massive money. He's ugly, and tough, and NEVER stops. If you don't like him-you don't like football. I dont care care for the TE pick and think he goes to PT. But I also predict he see's the field if Sanu gets banged up and takes some snaps in the slot. If Spoon comes into camp the competition at LB becomes crazy. Adding Duke and Hill to ST...yikes. Hahaha. I mean yikes! We'll get to see Trufanf at FS a couple of times this year. If Collins really improves we'll see Alford in the slot plenty. In pre-season we're going to see Rico, Alford, Poole, and Kamikaze at FS....and Rico will win it.
