Matt Campbell signed a new 8 year deal with Iowa State. The big takeaway so far is Iowa State agreed to a $3M boost to his pool for a coaching staff.

you know Kirby can't recruit 5 star qbs.. they won't want to play for him says our rivals and some of our few moronic fans.  those fans are very small, but per usual loud (not referring to any person on this board)

right now i believe we get Arnold.. hopefully we hire wvu's db coach.. would be a nice pickup.

As expected Jahmile Addae hired as Georgia's new defensive backs coach.

I've got more coming on this later from our WVU site but Jahmile Addae had a similar situation with the Mountaineers last year that he inherits at Georgia. Very little experience at cornerback. He called the coverages and coordinated the pass defense while coaching that position and WVU was No. 1 nationally in passing yards surrendered per game and No. 10 nationally in yards surrendered per pass attempt.

Umm, that doesn’t sound great? 

It is being reported on multiple sites that  West Virginia cb coach Jamie Addai has interviewed along with a few others.  Sounds like a hire announcement could happen tonight or tomorrow.  

Lanning made the right decision for his career. Texas can throw money around at anyone but it is a miserable place to coach these days. Booster situation possibly worse than Auburn in terms of being overly involved and demanding. Sark is a top notch coach and should do well, but DC at UGA under Kirby is a better gig than DC at Texas under Sarkisian. Lanning is already a millionaire. Coaching one of the top units in the country with one of the best defensive staffs to boot is going to carry him to a head coaching job much faster than starting over in the Big 12.
I think Addai is the #1 on my list personally for DBs, but I sure wouldn’t scoff at Ansley or Raymond. Might be the one position I don’t worry about at all with Kirby hiring someone. 

A booster situation worse than Auburn?

White went after Elliot, Dykes, Franklin and Luke Fickell but got nowhere. Elliot was the one who seriously considered the move but couldn't pull the trigger.
