Dude, the Cap will increase again next year and Vic B might not be part of the future pending his performance and Cap. We are talking about the core players.
I just saw the Sanu tweet—if he is asked for a pay-cut, then he may not be part of that equation. He maybe traded or let go which will help the Cap space. Freeman is another major player that has a lot riding on him going forward .

  2. stingbee liked a post in a topic by FalconsIn2020 in Mularkey/Quinn on Hooper:
●The Falcons will be in Canton early next month to see former tight end Tony Gonzalez go into the Hall of Fame as well as play the Broncos in the first preseason game of the year.
The team hopes that game will kick off a season that sees their current tight end take a leap forward. Austin Hooper made the Pro Bowl last year after setting career highs in catches, yards and touchdowns and head coach Dan Quinn hopes to see those numbers go up again with Mike Mularkey on hand as Hooper’s position coach.
“Hooper, the improvement just keeps getting better,” Quinn said, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “Now, he’s ready to go to another level, and I’m looking forward to seeing him make that growth. The addition of having Mike here, he’s done everything that Mike has asked in terms of getting him ready. That connection has been good.”
Mularkey said that he believes Hooper can move into the ranks of elite tight ends in the league and Hooper said he plans to “be a sponge and absorb as much” knowledge as Mularkey can give him this year. Seeing that pay off would benefit the Falcons in the fall and it would benefit Hooper come the offseason as the 2016 third-rounder is playing out the final year of his contract.

I just landed in Atlanta from the Bay Area and staying with family. I used to live in Atlanta for 20 years and moved to Bay Area in 2003.
My brother-in-law told me that one of his good buddies knows Grady and they hangout.
According to Grady, he has already agreed in principle and they are working out the final details. You can expect an announcement by this week or by next week.
    He is staying in Atlanta...

You can't convince me that they weren't close and then a deal magically happens at the deadline. They had to be close

I believe him, seems to be genuine.
I have known about many Hawks and Falcon transactions over the years, well in advance of the public release. Both sides talk, players talk, any number of sources.

When I was in Atlanta about 2 weeks ago, I told you guys that both Grady and The Falcons have agreed in principle, but not the details.
I think the sticking point was the years for the contract. I’m thinking the Falcons wanted a 5-yr contract, but Grady wanted another chance for another contract in 4 years.
The source was my brother in law who had a friend that knew Grady- he told him that Grady is not going anywhere and has agreed in principle.
This was a very Cap friendly contract.

Beat me to it @g-dawg, I'll delete mine but copy over this because it's important:
I will say this, which I know will probably fall on def ears, Thomas Dimitroff is good at his job.  Very good.  Especially when it comes to contracts and the cap.  People need to sit back and let him do his thing before freaking out over rumors and speculation.  TD is excellent at what he does, and he deserves some shadow of the doubt.

Remember, Grady has no leverage because he can be tagged next year as well. He has to work that much hard to get his numbers to AD.
The Falcons are not going to allow him just walk. It is better for him to get the long term contract than waiting for 2 years to get one.

Some of these YouTubers are really good with production.  I find most of them that talk about Falcons are fos and don't seem to know anything about the team but this guy really nails us.   It's 20 mins so for those short of time and/or attention span, you've been warned but it is a good watch imo.

Is any of this true? I've not seen any credible source that says Grady's team asked for 22m OR that he's made it clear he wants to hit the open market.

The 49ers forum is huge, active and clean because they create player threads.  If you went there now you would see 270 pages under “We Just Signed Tevin Coleman”
Everything on Tevin goes there.  There is an All 22 Thread that is 8 years old but still on the front page.
It keeps about 20 fluid threads on the 1st two pages that are relevant until the player leaves, sucks or dies.  Also prevents clutter.
New Mods, time to earn your keep..lol

The team respects Mack, and they are not just going to release him. Unless, he starts playing bad this upcoming season, then all bets are off. But, I believe Mack will deliver this year and the following year. They could extend his contract by another I year or 2 if he wants to play after this contract ends.
Mack is not going to get shafted because he has done a lot for this team. The Falcons will find a way to keep Mack in play.

Are you as miserable irl as you are here?
And it won't be an issue.  Last year was a bandaid, this year is the extension, next year and the following years Julio will be quiet.  This is not hard.
Additionally, Julio has never had plans to hold out.  This is a non story.
