  1. Might be time to at least bring Sam in here and see what he can do. I realize he's slow but he knows how to work his hands on the guy in front of him pretty well. He has that hook move where he can get behind the tackle much more consistently than most top college players. Need to see if he will get blown off the ball when the big boys try to ram it down his throat, but at least you know Sam has potential. We should suck it up and take a chance.
  2. Hey, it's a better name than 4 random letters and numbers. I can't believe I could get banned over suggesting a totally reasonable trade. The only really good counter argument I've seen is that Quinn and Shannahan may have come here specifically to play with Ryan, in which case trading him would potentially run against why they even came here.
  3. Yes. So far I'm not sure our team has upgraded itself a whole lot. I mean we got some decent linebackers, but we did not address the pass rush at all, and we lost Harry Douglas who IMO is better than Roddy at this point, Peters who was at least contributing, and a solid starting offensive lineman. Just have to wait and see.
  4. We are going to roll out the same product as last year and see how that goes.
  5. We needed someone on the team to wear red contact lenses. What were we going to do otherwise?
  6. Dude has not stopped busting his *** since the season ended. He's fast, strong, and generally very athletic. He just cannot seem to run in the right direction, which hopefully is more due to him adjusting to the speed of the NFL. Here he is coming off the edge and getting a sack: Here he is dropping into coverage and banging your mom: This guy has been learning and lifting, and will surprise a lot of people when he gets significant playing time and puts on an *** whooping this year.
  7. We should've signed him ourselves. I get that he threw his girlfriend onto a stack of loaded assault rifles. But he is a monster pass rusher who is vastly undervalued right now because of stuff that doesn't relate to football. By the time he has another "episode" and nearly kills someone we could've gotten all kinds of production out of him. Now, we are stuck relying on the number 8 pick. That will not work out well for us this year. We're going to need Kroy to get some extra-red contact lenses to make him run a little faster and play a little better.
  8. Gotta join the chorus and ask: WHY AREN'T WE LOOKING AT HARDY? I get the simple answer is that he threw his girlfriend onto a stack of loaded assault rifles. But we need to think outside the box here. He is a monster pass rusher who is vastly undervalued right now because of stuff that doesn't relate to football. He cut a check and is not going to jail anytime soon. By the time he has another "episode" and nearly kills someone we could've gotten all kinds of production out of him. We should be all over this guy. Without Hardy, we are relying on the number 8 pick. That will not work out
  9. I'm definitely looking at it as a business move. Sometimes you gotta trade in the Porsche in order to buy a Farrari. In this case, we could trade in the Porsche to get the Farrari at a discount price and spend the first year just breaking it in. But that would also allow us to buy a lot more gas, better tires, and some other upgrades so we could burn a fool in year two. We're trying to be the best here, not just "good."
  10. Fellas, sometimes you gotta trade in the Porsche in order to buy a Farrari. In this case, we could trade in the Porsche to get the Farrari at a discount price and spend the first year just breaking it in. But that would also allow us to buy a lot more gas, better tires, and some other upgrades so we could burn a fool in year two.
  11. Is it safe to say that we're focused on putting quality players at all positions and not trying to contend this year? If so, then what about trading Matt Ryan to the Bucs for their 1st this year and next year? I think they would probably do it. That sounds crazy because Matt is one of our most important players, but there would be a lot of benefits to trading him. First of all, Matt costs a big chunk against our cap. I know that's the norm for top tier QBs, but with the way the rookie wage scale is, we could get Jameis in here for cheap and he is going to be a very good NFL QB by year two -
  12. You'll be wrong about that. Winston is one of the best QB prospects in the last few years. If Tampa gets an offensive line in place, they're going to turn back into a dangerous opponent again. The only good news is that the Saints are on a downward spiral so maybe the Bucs will just take their place.
  13. Fact is, we don't have that many good players. We've had UDFA's starting in major roles on this team for the last two years. Guys like Peters aren't bad, but they're not worth spending a ton to keep. Same for Spoon. We can replace the production of these guys pretty cheaply and give ourselves opportunities to find a few diamonds in the rough. Bulk up LB through FA, get at least one pass rusher in FA and another in the draft. Add some more serviceable OL and DL. We will be fine. Same thing with the Braves. People overreact when you get rid of guys. Fact is some of these guys have bad b
  14. Spoon gets hurt too often. He has ability but it doesn't matter when that ability is sitting on a living room couch healing up while the team is out there playing.
