  1. If the line can actually block some people instead of whiffing everyone can carry the rock.
  2. Basic spelling errors are required to submit a thread.
  3. LB/TE seem most likely and could go a few ways Pass rushing LB - would help the team most, don't know if there's anyone out there 4-3 LB/3-4 ILB/Nickel LB - LBs who don't pass rush tend to drop, maybe we can find a tall rangy LB with good coverage ability or a big "tweener" safety to play nickel LB and match up with guys like Graham Big gronk type TE - Could get a big TE like a 3rd OT to get movement in the run game and help keep Ryan clean Mismatch TE - Could get a fast athletic TE to match up on LBs A darkhorse here that could be nice is a nice blazing WR, either a speed or an ankle breaking type to plug into the slot.
  4. San Frans WRs are terrible, their TE is their only receiver that scares anyone.
  5. Douglas, Freeman, Hester. If the line can block for more than 1.5 seconds before turning someone loose that's a lot of speed for #3 4 and 5 CBs to deal with. Still wouldn't mind seeing a pure speed/ankle breaking slot WR now that we got our receving RB
  6. Let's make sure this line can actually block before we start worrying about 5th and 4th receivers.
  7. What are you talking about? Julio is the best WR not named Johnson and Crabtree is slow and bad. Their whole receiving crew is slow and Stevie Johnson makes it slower. Davis is their only fast receiver. This RB we drafted gets north-south in a hurry and looks to be just the kind of receiving weapon out of the backfield we needed. There's room to get a fast slot WR to throw in the mix, which Hester can do as well.
  8. DT/DEs that will make the team Soliai, Jackson, Hageman, Babineaux, Peters DT/DEs on the bubble Jerry, Robertson, Replogle DE/OLBs that will make the team Osi, Massaquoi, Goodman, Maponga DE/OLBs on the bubble Biermann, Matthews I think Jerry/Robertson atleast 1 will stay, Biermann likely will stay. Matthews and 1 or even 2 of the DTs could get cut.
  9. No doubt but James has got what the backfield is missing - speed, he's hungry for touches and the 9ers don't even have room for him now. With only 2 years left on his deal he could be had for cheap and give us a nice Sproles type weapon out of the backfield. I wouldn't mind getting a rookie with 4 years on the contract but that's more of a question mark. I just don't want to add another plodder to the backfield.
  10. I'm all for getting a talented young back in the draft, wouldn't mind scooping LaMichael James from the 9ers, can probably get him for a future late pick at this point.
  11. LaMichael James could probably be had for a future late pick. The 9ers have plenty of picks, are taking redshirt guys, and have Gore, Hunter, Lattimore and now Carlos Hyde. They don't have room for him and with only 2 years left on his deal he could be had for very cheap. Add some much needed speed to the backfield, dangerous receiver on screens and underneath DBs chasing Julio.
  12. Decoud may have ended up at a Pro Bowl but you can't be scared to tackle and be considered one of the better safeties in the league. Don't know where this "one down year" thing came from, I stopped watching this team after the Jets game last season when it was obvious they were going no where. Decoud has always been soft and will actually get in the way of people trying to tackle when someone comes his way. It didn't start last year, go watch Hakeem Nicks breakaway TD to ice the game in the playoffs a few years ago and see Decoud play leadblocker for him.
  13. Didn't even see that but check this out 4 BUF Watkins, Sammy - WR Clemson Agree; great, bold move by the Bills; they now have a very good receiving corps with Woods and Goodwin from last year's draft - look for Stevie Johnson to be traded or released. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000348691/article/san-francisco-49ers-acquire-stevie-johnson-from-bills San Francisco 49ers acquire Stevie Johnson from Bills My favorite part about it is the 9ers got another slow receiver, he'll fit right in.
  14. A bit taller. I said he's our JJ Watt because he fits the mold of that disruptive 3-4 DE. He also tested quite similiar to Watt at 20 pounds heavier. Personally he reminds me of Marcus Stroud with his size, play, attitude and that 99. But his attitude is Stroud's buddy
  15. I'd want a speedback because Jackson is slow and Rodgers is not fast. Smith is fast but doesn't play and is 28. This team could not run or pass block which has hopefully changed but on 3rd and long teams had no concern for the RB position whether via run or pass because they had no speed, couldn't break a big run or take a dump off 20 yards. This is why last offseason I wanted Percy Harvin or Reggie Bush who got the same amount as Jackson. When defenses go chasing Julio we need someone fast to run underneath that cleared out space. Perhaps Hester can do a bit of that. I wouldn't be looking for the eventual #1 replacement, but if he proves that fine. Just a speed RB to give us speed out of the backfield which we lack. Since the 9ers drafted Carlos Hyde and have Lattimore coming back healthy, Lamichael James could definately be had for cheap at this point they have no room for him with Gore, Hunter and everyone else. He only has 2 seasons left on his rookie contract I believe so he could probably be had for a late pick or a future late pick if they don't want more picks this year.
  16. However it shakes out atleast there's enough size, talent and depth that they won't be worn out and useless in the 4th Q. I'm not convinced the pass rush is where it needs to be but I'm happy about the run D.
  17. 6'6 and he's explosive too? Scoop him if true. Edge rusher definately seems like the most glaring need for the next pick. We need depth at LB but I don't think we're trying to draft a starter there so I'd pick up depth later. If not edge rusher I could live with a speed WR, speed RB or a TE who can compete to start, but some heat off the edge is what we need. If there is anyone left worth taking at DE nows the time to get him, we can find a small quick WR or RB and a TE later
  18. If there's a position the team "needs" right now it's edge rusher. If there isn't one there it will likely be LB due to the lack of depth. A speed RB would be a nice addition, Smith is supposedly fast but is like 28 and has like 10 carries. I think a speed WR might be a bigger need given the age of Roddy and Harry, and the injuries last year to Julio and Roddy. TE is also a possibility. With the next pick I'd go DE/OLB if there's a legit pass rusher available WR/RB if there's a speed demon here who can make big plays with few touches TE if there's someone who can compete for the 1 or 2 spot Then the next pick I'd look to add some depth to LB and safety after that.
