I mean, a 70% W/L record over his first 5 years doesn’t scream in over his head.  Do I prefer Quinn for today’s team?  Absolutely.
But people needlessly pile on Coach Smith.  He gets little respect.  He is more likely to be mocked than praised around TATF.   All he did was lead a perpetually downtrodden franchise out of the darkness and into its golden era

This year Sanu and Julio’s extension is probably enough to get you there.  Then next year make some cuts and extensions.  I wouldn’t do it though
    - extend Mack & lower his CAP hit
    - extend Tru and lower his CAP hit
    - extend Matthews to lower his CAP hit
    - cut Rico (saves 4 mill)
    - cut Stocker (saves 3 million)
    - cut Schaub (saves 3 million)

Last time it erupted it left 30 feet of ash deposits 2,000 miles away in Texas.  Good bye sunlight.  Hello apocalypse

Clowney would cost Mack, Free & Schaub next year.  Only way you could do it this year is being very clever with Julio’s extension and cutting Sanu

Which is why they wouldn't do it, so who ya cutting this year?

Probably what 2020 said. I self admitted many years that I’m not a. Cap guru. However, we have added high priced guys like Edwards, Mack, Poe, and others in Creative ways over the years.
On a base level rico is almost 5m, an extension for Vic with signing bonus lowers his, Sanu is 7 m plus,  Free is 6.7m. Julio extension. I won’t even speculate deeply, as I don’t pretend to be a cap guru, but there are always dollars.
again, we know this is a purely discussion thread at this point, but the GMs have gotten fairly adept at executing trades that seemed hopeless in the past.
giving up draft picks doesn’t even bug me at all

I think it was me lol
    i own it too.
We are 100 percent in agreement that a Clowney would be a game changer.,
Itd be interesting to get Clowney, Vic and Takk on field at same time on third downs , wouldn’t it?
    Almost criminal

Sorry, I get my feelings on my shoulders about Brady.

To be fair, every trade in history started with a similar headline

I feel about Snit the same way I felt about Bobby.   Great leader of men and great guy, relates to the players well who in turn usually play hard for him, but mediocre managerial skills which are greatly exposed in post-season.

I know this is not Falcon related but humor me...the Falcons season hasn’t started yet and this is at least Atlanta related. I just want to publicly congratulate Braves Manager Brian Snitker. I know he may make some questionable decisions from an in-game management perspective, but the more I see of him the more I really like him. He seems like a genuinely good guy, and a loyal 40+ year Braves veteran who treats his players like adults.
I loved the way he handled Acuna. Benched him but explained why. He and Acuna both agreed. Then when Acuna was put back in the leadoff spot Tuesday, Snit was the first guy out to defend him when he was hit by the first pitch. The players seem to really love him and play hard for him. Is he the best game manager?  Nope. But is he the best possible manager for this team right now? I truly believe he is. I am really enjoying this team right now and how it is playing under Snit’s leadership. If anyone deserves to be rewarded for years of faithful service it is Brian Snitker.

No, he isn’t.  He will get in, but not 1st ballot.  After 16 years you should have gaudy stats
And his 116-114  W/L record isn’t  HOF worthy

Starting on 8/14, the Nats have averaged nearly 11 runs per game, outscoring the Braves 86-38.
They've gained 0 games in the standings.

Yes!! Melancon slams the door and the Braves beat the Mets 2-1 in 14 innings!! This is a game they don't win a month ago because they didn't have the arms to win this kind of game. Thank you AA.

Been thinking who it could be...
Maybe Az is gonna send Fitzy to a contender?
    Mike Evans maybe?
Another dude, I think Albright, was saying similar things about trades brewing.  Guess we will see...

At Wrigley Field if you reach into the ivy to field the ball it's a live ball. You've got to throw your hands up and signal for a dead ball. How do I know that? Because I've seen it happen against the Braves. That is the way the rule works at all stadiums.

And that is the point. If you don’t like a thread or find it BS—cool, leave it be.
