See before I go into this draft me personally I’m doing whatever it takes to fix 3 things to the best of my ability nothing else.
Pass Coverage Run Game Pass Rush
I rate the talent and build the team around those 3 things to improve it.
All the rest to me is just noise.
You don’t fix the mentioned or add talent in those 3 areas we’ll be middle of the pack at best if that’s good enough for you ok fair enough not me.

Congrats to UGA winning a national championship in disc golf!

They won in a sudden death playoff in the pouring rain!

Love the guy, loved his business like approach to the game. Showed up to play every day. Great career. Not hall of fame but formidable. Clearly time to give it up and everybody knows it. He will be missed

Well, that got shut down quickly. I think he was just being reckless trying to make a point, but it's best to avoid provoking the bear unless you are planning on shooting it.  Nick Chubb is also like the worst example that he could have come up with.

I agree. There are a lot of talented Hwt now and a guy like Overeem always has his experience and savvy to pull from. However, I never felt he had a realistic shot at a title. Maybe a title fight, but he is just simply a level below Ngannou, Jon Jones, and Stipe at this point.

There was an odd exchange very early in the first round. Overeem seemed to felt something early that was more power than he expected. Or that he didn’t want to be there. It was odd. Maybe it was just him playing coy, but it really struck me as odd. It gave me a bad feeling for Overeem’s chances in the fight, and i was rooting for him

Max Fried "can't pitch deep into games" because Brian Snitker won't let him. In his 11 starts last year he was allowed to throw over 100 pitches just once. 4 times he was pulled with less than 90 pitches thrown. That doesn't count his final start against the Marlins that was cut short because of his injury. Look at the Reds playoff game. Fried was through 7 on only 78 pitches and Snitker pulled him. That's not a Max Fried problem. That's a Brian Snitker problem.

I'm a RB guy. The best Falcon RB of all time is William Andrews. Without a doubt. What other Falcon RB racked up 1800-2000 yards, 10 TDs and blocked another Falcon back to 1000 yards as a FB? Riggs and Turner are close seconds but WA31 was the man. Trust me on this one folks. Many media pundits said he was better than Sweetness at the time. Good Lawd.

Great topic! One thing that the Falcons (and the Dawgs too) have historically had? Great running backs! Here's my Top 5.
THE TOP DOG: William Andrews - The most well-rounded bruiser of his time. A downhill runner, receiver, and blocker, with surprising speed. During a 4 year stretch (before his injury), he was a Top 5 running back. (In some years, Top 2-3).
THE NEXT GREAT BRUISER: Gerald Riggs - He came along as just as Andrews career was cut short by injury. An absolute sledgehammer between the tackles, and had a 1700 yard breakout year, at one point, along with 2 All-Pro honors. Later, won a Super Bowl with the Redskins. The Falcon's all-time leading rusher.
THE DIESAL: MIchael Turner - For the first 4 years of Matt Ryan's career, this guy was the wrecking ball, good for 1300-1700 yards per season and 10+ TDs each year.  Another guy with absolute tree trunks for thighs, and called the "The Burner," because he actually had breakaway speed.
MR. CONSISTENCY: Warrick Dunn - How does someone so small pack such toughness? Give this guy just a crack, and you gave you 5 yards. Also, a total mismatch as a receiver, and great at taking on blitzers. All this, despite playing below 200 lbs! So shifty, hard as **** to get a clean shot on, which explained his longevity. Off the field, just an awesome human being.
THE GREATEST SEASON: Jamal Anderson - His 1800 yard season was the key to our first Super Bowl appearance. Built low, big trunks, another bruiser of a back, who also had just enough speed to surprise you. Had a three year run of 1000 yards, before the injuries got to him.
    HONORABLE MENTION: Devonta Freeman

Well, if I’m being objective I’d probably put Riggs at #2, but unlike the others, he didn’t finish his career as a Falcon. He gets deducted points for choosing to move on to Washington. Loyalty matters. 😉

    A few reasons:
    Jameis Winston
    Marcus Mariota (who I liked)
    Carson Wentz
    Mitch Trubinsky
    Sam Darnold
Five out of the last eight QBs who went top 5 in the draft fall somewhere between underachieving and being total busts. Then, there's the up and down careers of Jared Goff and Baker Mayfield.
At this point, the only recent top 5 pick who looks like an unqualified success is Kyler Murray.

Also -- and here's the only point that matters -- Tampa Bay scored on every drive but one against us. Brady made a mistake that gifted us an interception. If not for that, they would have scored each time they touched the ball.
Unless Wilson can rush the passer and tackle ballcarriers, he doesn't help this team.

If we draft a QB at #4, I'll immediately question the foresight of the new coaching staff.

Dawggone reacted to marvinthemartian in Arthur Blank does one thing as well or better than anybody else...
First of all, as a Falcons fan since 1966 and having suffered through the Rankin Smith ownership tenure, I am forever grateful to Arthur Blank for what he has done for this city and this franchise. He makes mistakes like we all do but he is still one of the very best owners, not just in the NFL, but in all of pro sports.
Mr Blank does one thing exceptionally well. When he decides he wants someone in his organization, he does whatever has to be done and gets the person he wants. He is not cheap. You never hear him complain publicly about money or having to pay big contracts even if those contracts were ill-advised. It may not always turn out to be the best decision, but give the man credit where credit is due... he goes after who and what he wants and gets it. I truly appreciate him as an owner. We are fortunate to have him.

You are spot on. Lord knows Rankin Smith could care less about spending money on good players.  Years of longggg suffering as a Falcons fan.  Arthur shows he still wants a championship and makes changes when necessary to try and improve the team.
